Because he hurt someone, twice.

I wonder how many people Jimmy Johns hurt by selling them cocaine.

I would imagine the long term effects of cocaine are far greater than "minor injuries to her neck."

In 2008, we had a player who was in the middle of a drug sting because he was selling cocaine to police officers out of the athletic department's parking lot.

Tell me why this situation is worse.

Jimmy was not busted in Athens for doing the same thing, then signed by Bama before he was cleared of the charges.

Finebaum has been leading the charge against Saban on this issue.

That's why I said that.

His primary reason for chastising Saban was because "Saban must have known the sensitivity surrounding this particular topic, blah blah blah"

After Ray Rice issue, domestic violence is front and center in the news today. This will blow over like anything else and if not for Ray Rice or Peterson issues, this is a non-story and Taylor could still be on the team. Saban at this point in his career did not need Taylor at Bama and he screwed up bringing him in.

Ok, at this point I feel like you are either extremely dumb or just trolling.

Probably not, actually.

You're still ignoring the repeat offender status of Taylor, which is the basis of the public criticism.

Probably because the former at least had some good come of it. Everyone loves to party.

I do think that there is currently some hypersensitivity to DV

Hypersensitivity, at least to me with its colloquial usage, seems to indicate people have unnecessarily put it in the cross hairs. I see nothing unnecessary about the attention Domestic Violence and it's offenders get.

He brought it on himself when he allowed that animal on the team.

Okay, I'm done here.

Enjoy the witch hunt while it lasts.

Nobody will remember it by mid-April.

I am going to go with trolling.

Just because the degree of violence was less than in the Ray Rice incident - doesn't mean it is any more acceptable. Would Taylor have had to knock her unconscious for Saban or Alabama to apologize for accepting him in the program? Is that the threshold?

I think we can all be guilty of what he's doing. Someone says something about your team/coaches/members of that team, and fans go through mental gymnastics to defend against the attack because we personalize it.

I understand that. I won't hold it against him because I have done it and it's easy to understand the psychology of it in these types of arguments. The whole downplaying the domestic violence part because it was only minor injuries - hard to defend.
