I'm amazed at the amount of gumps in here acting like Bama's recent title teams would stomp 95 Nebraska.
Are you idiots high?
This is 95 Nebraska's season:
at Oklahoma State W 64–21
at Michigan State W 50–10
Arizona State W 77–28
Pacific* W 49–7
Washington State W 35–21
Missouri W 57–0
#8 Kansas State W 49–25
at #7 Colorado W 44–21
Iowa State W 73–14
at #10 Kansas W 41–3
Oklahoma 1 W 37–0
vs. #2 Florida* W 62–24
Go back and watch some of those games. That team would have ZERO problem matching up physically and athletically with Bama's recent title teams.
I have to think some of you Bama fans saying crap like this are teenagers, who started watching football maybe 7-8 years ago.

Finally arrived, had to walk across the street to meet the dude and get it. He was very confused.

You are right, our defense from two years ago would have had no shot at stopping the option attack even with a month to prepare.

Why? Because they curb stomped one of your greatest teams ever? Not our fault Spurrier normally chokes when he goes OOC against great teams. Go frick yourself.

Sigh...
Put it this way.
95 UF averaged 44 PPG, avged over 530 YPG offensively, 360 YPG passing, went 12-0, and won every game by no fewer than 11 points.
Frankly, I'd argue that team was the best UF team ever.
And it got stomped.
No one even talks about how nasty that Husker defense was because of the way they just ran over people offensively.
I'd favor that 95 Nebraska team by 3 TD's over any Bama team you wanna debate.

Please list the height, weight, and speed of each teams' two-deep roster. Bama 2011 would shut down NU 95.. No contest.

In Spurrier's tenure, FSU was a perennial top 2-3 team in ALL ELEVEN years while he was at UF.
I'm sorry Georgia Southern isn't on that level.
And neither is current Michigan, VA Tech, or Clemson, teams that Bama has faced OOC recently.

Alabama dropped a game in 2011. They also beat that same team by 21 points and pitched a shutout of them in the title game. To say that Nebraska would hands down beat them by 3+ touchdowns is simply not true. It would be a great game. That Alabama D is one of the best to ever take the field.

To answer the original question, Steve Spurrier as OC and Nick Saban as DC, with head coach Derek Dooley. Three legends.

Yeah because some other team that has one isn't gonna be picked. My point is conference titles are the only title that a team as complete control over.
Read my post again. The only two times Spurrier has ever had any argument to play in a title game he got in the game. So your argument that Spurrier had no control over the amount of title games he played in is completely unfounded. For him to be such an elite coach, having no undefeated teams and only two 1 loss teams in a 20+ year career does not speak that well for him.

How many undefeated teams has Nick Saban coached? Only the one, right?

With a young Osborne as HC that would be something.

But he coached one. That means hes infinitely better than Spurrier.
