It's not about him acting black, he is a slouch. I watched the Gruden camp thing and he was slothed out over the table and saying nonsensical things in a misguided effort to be cool...and the kicker is he knew the cameras were on him and only him.

BTW it is easy to tell the guy smokes a substantial amount of reefer or at least intends to come off that way.

He's just a country kid who doesn't want the whole world knowing it.

There are a ton of kids that think talking or dressing a certain way makes them look more tight/hip/cool.

Some of us do the same shite here with "U Mad", "Swagga" and other stuff we say.

Hell, Tennessee fans were on here bragging about rappers putting Kiffin in their work. What do we expect from kids when we set a shitty example?

The bad thing for Ryan is the whole world really was listening.

The good thing is, unlike a tattoo, he can get rid of it if he chooses to do so.

It’s comical to read some of these posts criticizing Mallet for what he is, the way he talks, the way he's this, the way he’s that and I would venture to say most of these posts are from some of biggest losers in life’s lottery. Despite all the vilifying of Mallett on this board the bottom line is this.

1. He will probably make more in signing bonus, even for a 3rd round pick, than most of you hamburger flippers will make in your lifetime.
2. Mallett will be paid to compete at the highest level of his chosen profession. How many of you can say that now or will ever be able to say that?
3. Ryan will either make it or he won’t. It all depends on how hard he works, dedicates himself to doing all that is necessary to be the best he is capable of being and staying injury free.

Some posters on message boards somehow think that by disparaging everything that a player does, says, the way he talks, etc. it makes you look smart. In reality it makes you look like a desperate loser and a person who can’t elevate themselves to any type of success so you rely on trying to tear others down. That never works and you will find out soon if you haven’t already.

Let me get this straight - you think that Tennessee, Jacksonville & Minnesota, teams who between them have had starting quarterbacks like Steve McNair, Vince Young, Warren Moon, Daunte Culpepper, Randall Cunningham, Tarvaris Jackson & David Garrard did not draft Ryan Mallett because he was acting too black?

I think that some of you are being a little too sensitive. Basically, all I have been saying is that you have to carry yourself as a professional if you want to be treated like one.

Mallet can go his whole life not worrying about whether or not he is "likeable", but it sure as he'll won't help him any.

And some posters think that by hanging the worth of their program over where their quarterback gets drafted it will somehow erase the medicority that has marred their program for decades. OR, they take attacks on someone they've never so personally that it borders on psychotic. Not gonna mention names or anything....

The fist part was to the poster saying the eminem comment was not becoming. The second is a joke...Jesus.

And he does look like Jim Breuer

The Mallett apologists are delusional and most would be attacking Mallett if he didn't play for Arkansas.

That said, it doesn't appear Cam has been scrutinized near as much as Mallett (in regards to character issues impacting draft status).

Mallett's best defense will be performance, or not.

For the record, I respect the he'll out of Mallett's game and am certain that he will excel wherever he ends up starting.

But until he lands that starting job, I hope he decides to mature and further his knowledge of the game.

The Panthers brass called Cam the most scrutinized/researched player he has ever seen.

but, you know, Cam has no glaring personal issues

I would have never taken him first, but his issues probably aren't as big of red flags as Mallet's

Cam is such a better prospect. I remember ESPN saying mallet was the better player before the Arkansas Auburn game...wrong again
