Yep, probably analogous to Michael Sam's situation. Focus needs to be on your fitness for the NFL not on anything else.

Sam is undersized and has to make a position switch. That's a lot of unknowns for a draftee and he knows that. I doubt he'd sue.

Yep. McCullers is in the draft. No idea why no one's taken a chance on him - they were high on him at the combine and thought that his real problem was he's not an every down guy and we didn't have the depth to make him work. McCullers was a disappointment though to many UT fans - never lived up to his size and allowed himself to get manhandled by much smaller guys.
