John Henderson had 13 sacks as a DT in 2000, and he was never mentioned for the Heisman.

He was also lined up next to freaking Albert Haynesworth

There are also times when rb's or qb's get lots of yards and aren't in the running.

It was just an observation. Suh isn't the only good defensive lineman Nebraska has. Barry Turner is good too. I think we'll see that at the next level. He's dealt with injuries is entire time in Lincoln.

You are correct. Shaun Alexander had similar stats to Ingram in 1999, with more TDs.

The site says that there is about a 3% margin for error and they almost always overstate the gap between one and two. This is going to be really close.

While stats obviously help, I think how you get your name out there is also important. Ingram did well and is playing on a national championship contender. Gerhart actually did earn it on yards alone, which usually doesn't happen...he's also a white rb, which we don't see often Suh dominated on national television a week ago, so that helps him a ton.

Suh was the only noticeable player on a defense, that before this season, was terrible. He led his team in interceptions last year. They've had a great defensive line, with Turner, Potter, and Suh, but the back seven had been laughably bad for some time.

Are we talking about 92?

This is 2009. And in 2009 Suh was the most dominating player in college football. Copeland and Curry did their thing, sure, but were either of them the most dominating individual player of 92? No.

Heisman is a "this season" trophy. Those who want McCoy or Tebow to win are either UT/UF fans, or are trying to give a career award. The voters wanting to give it to Ingram, are doing so to "make history" by giving it to a Bama player. Ingram was great, but is in no way the best player in america. Ingram and Gerhart are a push. I wouldn't say one was better than the other.

If the Heisman is to go to the best football player in the country, the finalists should be (in order):

1) Suh
2) McClain
3) Everyone else

I have to add that next year, the RB from Pitt may win the award going away. Dion Lewis is ridiculous.
