I wouldn’t call this woke. You gotta realize Mississippi is the state with the highest % of blacks per capita. Many of which are very talented athletes that end up playing for State. Having a black AD at the state’s university doesn’t hurt.
I don’t like adding in that he’s the first black AD. I’d rather see it as Mississippi State’s new AD who happens to be black.

Agree, he is a great choice strictly on merits. Wish him all the luck. Like anyone in that job you won’t know how good or bad until they have ti make a tough hire/fire decision. But in the little things you will start to see the signs of his taking over and will be able to judge some then.
The other important note is he’s made some friends in high college places, so like anyone would do if facing a tough decidion he can reach out discretely to some trusted people to get opinions. I think thats a very important thing to have.

That was a tweet by a writer, it wasn’t presented by the school that way. You can’t beat up the school for what some writer adds in his content. Have to read who the messenger is and in this case it wasn’t the school. You blamed the school instead of the writer.
