Program wise, I agree.

But Cruces isn't a bad place to be for school. Las Cruces is a heck of a lot better place to be during the school year than Laramie, Wyoming or Pullman, Washington. Campus is nice. When you add in El Paso/Juarez to the mix it isn't really small and isolated like you'd think.

And while New Mexico doesn't have players to recruit, Texas and now Arizona have them.

There is really no excuse for NMSU and UNM to be as bad as they are historically in football. The main reason is that they are both basketball schools. All of their resources have gone toward basketball.

He did a damn good job at Minnesota before the health kicked in. He's an excellent coach
