No it is the same thing. Alabama going unbeaten in 1925 and beating Washington was a lot like Boise State going unbeaten and beating Oklahoma.
Alabama was an upstart team who played in a region of the country nobody cared about or payed attention to. They were exactly like Boise State.
So, telling me that Alabama should have won over Dartmouth in 1925 is a lot like arguing that Boise State should have won over Florida in 2006. It is the same thing. The fact the we now have a "system" for determining a "champ" doesn't mean a whole lot.

Bama fans want to shut down any real conversation on this matter by labeling anyone who criticizes their "NCs" as a whiner.
Pretty much tells you what you need to know. They are incredibly sensitive about this sort of thing because they know "14" is bullshite.

Quick question. Why does the number of national titles we claim bother you so much? Are they all 100% legit? Well it's tough to be when prior to 1936 there was no real way to determine a single champion. If you want to say our undefeated rosé bowl teams of the 20's are not legit champions than go ahead but we are still gonna claim them and you are still gonna be bitter about it.

I don't see why. The system was imperfect back than. We had great teams that were deserving of being named champions and by many they were.
Multiple teams use so called "Bama" math to get their titles. At the end of the day no matter how you'd like to determine them, Bama has more legitimate titles than any team. Sorry that rustles your jimmies
