Really? I don't recall ever seeing a billboard advertising the University of Alabama football program outside of Tuscaloosa - within a 5 mile radius of the stadium. This billboard was in Mobile. How many "Choose LSU" billboards have you seen?

It's a pretty cool looking billboard, IMO.
I agree, but Ross...Auburn.
Limos, Big Cat Weekends, now billboards?
Seems desperate to me...
I guess you cant hate on them for trying...but it's very Sun Belt like.

When was the last time you've seen something like this from LSU?

It doesn't have to be considered a football recruiting billboard. It might help just creating excitement for potential new students at Auburn.
I also don't think the Plainsman have ever really been used as a mascot. Bama needs to just realize they are just as confused as Auburn when it comes to mascots.

Good to know the gumps are still monitoring all things Auburn. Gumps sure are an insecure group.
It's like a daily thing here. Gumps on AU websites, gumps following facebook of AU recruits, gumps following AU advertising, gumps tracking AU recruiting efforts, the list goes on.
Hell, I learn more about what is going on with AU from gumps than just about anywhere since they follow AU closer than AU fans half the time.

How would you like us to turn a "Crimson Tide" into a mascot uniform?

Good observation CC

Is this really the reason that Bama invented a secondary mascot? They were worried what the mascot uniform might look like

I'm thinking both of those billboards are probably in Baton Rogue. And even if they aren't, LSU is the only football program that people care about in Louisiana. It's not an overt attempt to gain recognition outside of your normal "home turf".

No, it's just one of the many reasons that it's acceptable for us to have a secondary mascot. IMO, it's a unique situation.

I've seen LSU billboards in Atlanta.

Thanks for the pub. Don't let Lache see those.
Its ok to put them up once you've won something.

I'm going to have to agree with Golfer here and say that using that billboard as something negative about Auburn is reaching. Auburn's home turf can absolutely qualify as the state of Alabama, by the way.

Actually, the bottom one is our "Intimidator" that is a part of our fricking baseball stadium. The top one is a congratulatory billboard because we won a national championship. Big difference from the shite AU is doing these days.

It came up on Google Images when I was looking up "LSU Football Billboards".

What makes it more unique than Auburn's situation? Other than the mascot uniform excuse.
ETA: This is what Bama's mascot should look like.
