Sadly this for the most part is true. Unless we are talking about the 03/09 LSU games. Those were probably the loudest I've ever heard VHS. Especially after the pick 6 to start the 03 game.

You guys should have a pretty good recruiting base, but never seem to make it into that upper echelon. Is it administration that holds you guys back, or are there are other factors involved?
We've had horrible coaching hires. It's a simple answer, but that's about what it boils down to. Administration is definitely problem because the "good ol boy network" definitely exists with making these hires (even with Sumlin, a prominent A&M regent was neighbors and friends with him supposedly).
I truly think a top coach could turn us into one of the best programs in the country very quickly, and I'm not full of delusion like some of our fan base. But at the point where we are we have to get middle conference coaches like Sumlin and hope for the best.

I feel like you guys have the name and the recruiting base to really be a national championship contender. I don't necessarily know that, but that's an outsider's perspective. I might be wrong, but you guys could be on level with Auburn, without a doubt.

A couple bars/restaurants in town have pictures of all our head coaches on the walls and he's left out of most of those collections
Fran's picture is still hung upside down inside The Houndstooth on The Strip. It will be to your right, as soon as you walk into the bar.

I feel like eventually we will get lucky and get the head coach right, and when we do we will really take off. Who knows when that will be, but our fan base and resources are conducive to being a great program. We are probably the most underachieving football program of the last 10 years.

Georgia...

They still won conference championships and made BCS games. They have more to work with, but still, we've never really been close to that level in this time period. And yes, it's gotten to the point that this is what A&M fans argue about.

I don't know about that. I mean, yeah UGA should have won the National Championship when Stafford and Moreno were there but other than that, they've been pretty successful. They've won the conference and been to the BCS multiple times.

Last time I went to the chicken Fran's picture was upside down there too.

My ex-wife is an Aggie. First time my Dad met her he asked her did she know why Aggies carry a turkey under their arm. She bites and says "no". He said "spare parts". Pissed her off pretty good.
Was in South Texas for Thanksgiving back in the early '90's and went to A&M/Texas game on Thanksgiving night. It was a bunch of fun. Texas band comes on the field and plays "The Eyes of Texas are Upon You". Aggies all start singing "I've Been Workin on the Railroad". Funny as Hell.

I don't completely understand the deal with A&M though. You guys should have a pretty good recruiting base, but never seem to make it into that upper echelon. Is it administration that holds you guys back, or are there are other factors involved?
Now that we have removed ourselves from the other school in Austin and their recruiting machine, we should be good. Our recruiting has already made leaps now that we have made the jump to the best division in the best conference in the country.
