at the end of next football season there will be caps put on how much an athlete can make off of nil deals. it will be just like the NFL. the only fair way for it to work.
That is in direct violation of court cases that have already occurred. I like the idea but it will never happen

There won’t be caps

The issue isn’t NIL but NIL as inducement to enroll with a particular school, which is an open question legally but also pretty hard to prove without a rat. And anyone who thinks they know for sure how courts would rule on that are kidding themselves.

This isn't good for A&M but I don't believe this retroactive stuff holds water. A&M bought a class when it was legal to do so. Its like someone getting arrested for obscene behavior, being sentenced to community service then later they pass a law that say it carries a death sentence and you get the chair.

I think that is a fair assessment. I expect the NCAA to go over NIL deals at several schools to get an idea. Then they will go looking for someone that will squeal

How exactly can you prove that? Yeah. You can’t.

It was always against the rules to "buy a class."

Huh? The Supreme Court will lose? Who will they lose to?

The NCAA will lose in a court battle over this due to legal precedent already being established at a higher court.

Some disgruntled A&M player could bring down Dumbos entire scam. Better keep these guys happy and well paid. Who knows another school might even give the player more money to transfer and squeal like a pig
