Yes it was, they called Sheridan out. That's all it was. They said he didn't have a source inside the NCAA and that he had no new insight to the case to bring forward, instead prying the NCAA for a scoop.
People need to stop overanalyzing this and get back to laughing at the whole situation. Damn.

Where did it say he didn't have a source. They said his claim is unsubstantiated, not that he didn't have one. If he told them nothing, they don't know. Again, where did they deny his information being correct? They didn't. This statement was vague, and unnecessary. They'd been better off just saying no comment.

They said they didn't tell him anything, he claims his source is from the NCAA; ergo, they are saying he doesn't have a source. And I'm glad they didn't give a no comment, because this statement allows me to laugh at Danny Sheridan.

How would they know if he didn't give it to them? They are basing their statement on no information then. They would have to be claiming they didn't officially give him info. And even then, they still didn't deny the information as being wrong anywhere in the statement.

Why is there National lack of respect toward the plains? If you read all of the above comments posted by Auburn fans you can start to figure it out.

Maybe there is no information about a bagman that the NCAA is actively trying to get to come forward, as Sheridan claims. Hell if I know, they made the statement, I'm taking it at face value. And it's funny as hell.
