7-0 top 6th
Its packed on a Fri night. So where is Pokes home field advantage? This is their 2nd game and yet to score a run. I mean home field and all.
And packed stadium but OU’s not playing today. What gives I thought it was only OU fans at games.
All the whiners hate that OU wins no matter where they play. Less away losses in last 4 years than Tx has total losses this 1 year.
Its all sour grapes from teams that can’t beat them no matter where they play. City spent millions to upgrade this place and prior to that no one invested in softball nationally. They put so much money in it its now College Softball Hall of Fame.
Those same citizens who paid taxes to support it also come to the games no matter who is playing. So its not just the infrastructure, if another city built an equal that doesn’t mean fans will fill it up.
This comes up every year and yet every year not one city has even attempted to build one.

Just thought of something..
whoever loses the TX vs FL game will crossover to the OU side of the bracket.. assuming they beat UCLA?
ouch
Alabama vs TX/FL Loser
vs
OU/UCLA Winner
Stanford vs OU/UCLA Loser
vs
Texas/UF Winner
Does that look right?
Stanford 8-0 final. Pokes walk home

Yikes, OSU leaves OKC without scoring a single run.

It's been interesting watching OU fans conflate advantage with guarantee in order to make themselves feel better, and to ignore how much closer they are to OKC than is Ok St.
ESPN just showed a stat that OU has 19 consecutive tournament wins. All of those have been played at or within 20 miles of OU, and it's the closest campus to OKC of any team in the tournament. If we tallied up OU's post season travel the past 4 years, would we get to 100 miles? No, we would not. Imagine 4 yrs of post season play and you don't even travel a total of 100 miles.
Stanford had to travel 1400mi to get there. It would be interesting to compare their travel day itineraries. And their options on off-days. And on game days. I feel confident there's going to be a difference. I wonder how much money OU saves each year because of this. Maybe the NCAA covers travel costs for the other teams, so perhaps there's no imbalance there. I would assume the NCAA covers those costs.
Imagine if the football playoff allowed teams to host as they do in FCS, and during the Saban era you had the national title game in Birmingham every year. The college football world would have lost its mind. That's what we have with OU but it's somehow a problem to bring it up. Actually OU has an even better situation as they are closer than Bama would be to Birmingham.
Let's see what the greatest player in softball history has to say:
But with the overwhelming number of Oklahoma fans in the stands, it comes with a question – do the Sooners have a home-field advantage?
ESPN analyst Michelle Smith says absolutely. With the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, there are more Sooner fans – and Smith said the number of fans can impact the players' mood.
"They get great support here from the state of Oklahoma," Smith said.
"I do think it's an advantage for Oklahoma, but it's been that way for years. And this year is no different," Smith said.
The ESPN analyst told KOCO 5 that Oklahoma has the chance to become the greatest team in softball history, and the sea of Crimson and Cream cheering the Sooners on impacts that.
"It absolutely plays a role, and it is an advantage for them to have, let's say, 11,500 fans and maybe Florida State has 500," Smith said. "As an athlete, that definitely pumps you up. You get on the field. You're excited. You get all that energy going and, hopefully, direct it in the right direction."
Her comments don't even address the advantages off the field.
OU player said they are 'going to war between the lines'. I have to imagine going to war next to your own home is advantageous when you can go back to campus for recovery, treatment etc, and no one else can do that.
Texas coach was asked about this and he said it was a "huge advantage". In the same video, OU's coach said, "It's not our fault" which sounds like an admission. People just want OU fans to admit to this advantage and stop acting like it doesn't exist. No one is saying to strip the titles. Just be honest about how things are.

I think 3 teams can win the Championship if OU wins today. If they lose today. all 6 are possible.
1) Oklahoma
2) UCLA
3) Texas vs Florida winner today
Why do I think that?
the loser of Texas/UF will have to beat Alabama. then beat OU twice, and the chances of that are next to none.
Same for Alabama. Not happening.
As for Stanford, I don’t think they can pull it off.. but maybe they will shock the world.
Florida vs Texas is really important. You don’t want to flip to OU side and have to beat them twice.

just for a chance to play in the finals..
is it possible? of course.. but it isn’t likely.. the odds are a little bit better if UCLA can beat OU
