The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel has approved five new rule changes for the 2020 season

The new rules now allow ejected players to remain on the sideline instead of being banished to the locker room while expanding the officials jurisdiction to 90 minutes before kickoff as opposed to 60 minutes to avoid pregame altercations. They also call for implementing a two-minute time limit for officials to make decisions on instant replays. Lastly the rules call for a cap on the amount of duplicate jersey numbers on a roster to two, and now will add No. 0 as a legal jersey number.

Under the new replay rule, the play Auburn got at the end of the first half against Alabama would not have been able to happen. If there are less than three seconds on the clock when a review is initiated, the half is over if the team doesn't have a time out to stop the clock.

Good. Auburn doesn’t get to score at halftime now

MASSIVE EPIC MATH FAIL on the NCAA's part.

Rosters are maxed out at 105.

0 - 99 = 100 numbers

If you have only two duplicate jersey numbers, that means only 102 players can suit up.

The necessity for the rule is pretty dumb. But I wonder if that means there can't be three of the same number, not only two numbers can be duplicated.

I interpreted that as meaning there can be only 2x #19s, 2x #99s, 2x #45s, etc...

I could be wrong

If zero counts as a number now, that would mean 103 can suit up. The necessity for the rule is pretty dumb, though.

0-99 = 100 numbers. 00 is not a jersey number.

2 duplicates adds 2 numbers.

They need to implement the 3-point conversion from the XFL and the 33-yard PAT from the NFL.

I read this as you can no longer have 3 players wearing the same number.

I guess stating a fact is melting now. This is why I don't frequent the SEC Rant anymore...there is no legitimate discussion about anything. It all becomes a massive trollfest.

If that were the case, it would have the qualifier...of any one number.

they need to stop ejecting players for non-egregious targeting. Would it be so difficult to have two levels of fouls like soccer and basketball have? You have two targeting calls or one egregious call, you're gone. One non-egregious is a 15 yard penalty.

If you take away the time the officials had to deal with Menstrual Saban acting like a little kunt on the field, it might have not taken the officials longer than 2 minutes.

Auburn should have been kicking that FG 15 yards closer than wherever they had to kick it from.

Allowing players ejected for targeting and disqualified from the game to remain on the sidelines with their teammates (instead of being immediately banished to the locker room, alone)

Dang, one of my favorite parts of an ejection is camera guy following the player to the locker room as he knocks shite over, screams and acts like an arse.
