I don't even begin to understand match play but YAY for Wyatt.
Now that OSU and Stanford match is tight as hell.
If Bama wins, better to face OSU than Stanford, yes?

Match play in golf = 18 different games. Every hole is it's own individual game. You must win the most holes to win the match.

Its pretty easy. Each hole is its own point. So on the first hole I make a 5 and you make a 4, you have won the hole and the point that comes with it.
Wyatt won because he was up 3 points or holes, with only 2 left to play. He couldnt lose at that point.

Glad to see so many SEC teams do well.
And thanks MrAU and Trey. I am a fan of many sports, golf is not one of them.
But I guess I need to start learning since my son made the high school golf team.

Stanford won the medal portion of the tournament by a lot, so I would say yes. On the other hand OSU has probably been the best program in the last 20 years.

What a swing there in the Shelton/Jolly match. Shelton chipped in for birdie and Jolly missed a birdie putt that looked to be about 8 feet. Shelton 1 up through 16.
