Hmmm... live games are going to sound like practice in an empty gym. A lot of foul language/shite talk picked up on mic with a ton of squeaky sneaker noise.

Awesome.

Hope they ban announcers too. Most of them are going to be too obnoxious with no background noise

I'd love to hear the coaches going after the officials now that I think about it

Honestly, this is the biggest reason they're pushing social distancing at events like this.

Just look at schools. We still have kids coming in sick at work and parents refusing to pick them up. We have active cases in our city. We are probably going to have to shutdown next week because Brayden's mommy needs some "me" time during the day and still sent his arse to school with a 102 degree fever.

I read an article in the last few days that said people are testing positive who are showing no signs of anything. This thing is in its infancy as far as figuring out what is going on. That is why the world health leaders are asking for people to pretty much quarantine themselves.

I can remember people building bomb shelters. The AIDS virus showing up. The list goes on and on. I have never seen the concern over anything as much as what is happening now. It's not just the general public. It's the scientist who deal with things like this as part of their every day lives.

Also, the refs charge calls will likely be so less emphatic without a crowd to excite or piss off.

I will say that this is the most nation-wide uncertainty I have seen since hurricane katrina (and that was only regional).

I wasn't even in an area hit that badly but I remember the feeling of dread and uncertainty the next morning not knowing when the power would come back on, when classes would resume, or how the damage would ever be repaired...

I'm getting a similar feeling with this...
It seems very likely I might get told to telework - with no definite end date.

I am hearing rumors around my area of local schools getting cancelled.

Universities are already sending kids home.

And we all know airline grounding is coming.

Things aren't good. No idea why people can't see that.

Horrible move by the chicken shyt NCAA

Simply tell adults to be a fvcking adult for once in their damn lives and simply follow these fvcking instructions:

1 - Wash hands thoroughly and frequently

2 - Never touch your face when you're in public

3 - Stop smoking and using tobacco products since they increase the chances of hands to face incidents that can help spread this new pandemic that is less serious than the Flu season that we deal with each year

JMO from a non Healthcare expert is that this is one big over reaction created by Media over reach

It's almost as if the Media wants to tank the Economy on purpose, maybe make it harder for a certain guy to get reelected , a guy that I have characterized as highly flawed BTW

Just thinking out loud, or maybe posting out loud for those that will say I'm not thinking

This would make sense if it were the only media expressing concern about this.

At this point the only person downplaying this is someone that I will not name out of fear of triggering some of the more sensitive folks on here.

The media is filled with idiots and there has been a lot of poor reporting, but the truth is out there.

True or false

Is Flu season in the US each year worse than this pandemic?

It didn't kill that many people in China, a country that is way more populated than any other country in the world. And obviously the quarantines didn't do much, since it's all over the rest of the world. Turns out, a virus doesn't give a shite about borders or quarantines.

Then you have places like Germany that have pretty much shown the number of actual cases is much higher and most people just don't get tested over it. The bulk of those who get tested are usually those with symptoms already showing and probably severe enough for concern. Germany however has done many tests and has an extremely low fatality rate. Probably the first time accurate rates have been found as they do more testing on the young.

The threat of being blamed for inaction has been the main cause for action by anyone thus far. Nothing to lose by shutting things down, especially the more people do it, and get to look like they are taking action. Has nothing to do with logic or common sense.

The idea that an arena of people is somehow a huge deal in the grand scheme of things is kind of funny when you think about it. Much more likely to get it at a local store among the cashiers and other people you come in contact with.
