I agree. The elbow just glanced him. The knee was brutal.

The elbow caused him to bend down, putting him in a bad spot. Otherwise his head is nowhere near anyone's knees.

Just the way I remember it, might have been out of context. But definitely, you normally don't catch a knee to the head if you're in a normal stance.
