Hmmm... asking random soy boys and including 50% women in a poll focused on CFB gets you 3 things.

1. Inaccurate categorizations: Bama is largest national brand in the sport and draws its own haters no matter the subject; Bama complains about coordinators and player preference placed on seniority vs their fan perception of talent.

2. Erroneous results: Teams like Duke, UCLA and ASU somehow enter a conversation on a sport in which they are almost entirely irrelevant. Also, linked to #1. Bama has name recognition, so the "football fans" will mention it more.

3. Nowhere. It simply gets you nowhere.

You're still crying about a ref call (proven correct, as JJ touched the ball while out of bounds before PP completed the catch, which makes it dead) 12 yrs later in your avatar. And, your team is among the top 10 on a poll as irrelevant and unscientific as one on a click bait page built for teenage girls and housemoms

But, thanks for sharing, I guess.

Methodology

In October 2021, we surveyed 2,000 college football fans from around the country to ask them about their opinions on NCAA football fan bases and the Power Five conferences; 50% of respondents were male and 50% were female. The average age of respondents was 30.

This is in fact some pretty crappy methodology.

1. October 2021? They conducted a survey IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEASON. What if a team ACTUALLY HAD a legitimate complaint about a bad call by the referees in last weeks game and boom, you get a survey call about what your major complaint is? The timing of the survey artificially introduces a "recency bias".

2. 2000 college football fans from around the country? First, this seems to be a fairly small sample size. It sounds large (and it would be if this were a political poll), but it is not since the survey/poll is not comparing a small number of parties but rather a virtually open ended population of colleges.

3. Power Five teams - the survey does not indicate if the fans surveyed were actually fans of power five schools. That is, did they ask a Weber State fan about how much Syracuse fans complain? This is not clear and seems to be to wide in breadth.

4. 50% male, 50% female? This is not at all representative of the average population sample of college football fans.

Gump isn’t going to like this. Shatters the narrative that LSU is number one.

Not even close. Texas beats all hands down. Go to the Burbt Orange nation site look at the literally ten thousand posts over the last six weeks trashing their own players, coaches, culture, Aggies, SEC. Easily the biggest spoiled bitches in college football.

They claim a 1978 title when USC clearly was the better team

and USC lost to Arizona State that year. Alabama doesn't CLAIM the title. They were voted no.1 by the AP which was the most recognized poll back then.

Given that fan bases everywhere never stop complaining about Bama, that only seems fair.
