JFF is the best, but he's too busy playing QB for now.

Agree on both accounts.

This year seems kind of weak nationwide in regards to CBs campared to the last couple of years. Not putting down Milliner because I think he is the best.

well, yes he is. When he's the first CB taken in april you can tell the GM's how silly they are for picking a bammer because he didn't play a great passing team his junior year. He's 6'1", tackles like a safety and will run a 4.3-4.4 at the combine

ETA: lastest mock has milliner going 8th overall as the first CB off the board and Banks going 13th overall as the 2nd

We have some promising corners on the Flagship, they've just struggled in most games.

That was probably before Bray only threw at him like twice with Patterson and hunger combining for 4 catches against the secondary as a whole.

Oh, people are still throwing at Milliner? That's cute. Banks has the QBs afraid to throw his way

Milliner doesn't line up as LCB or RCB. He plays boundry corner. This typically means the field corner has safety help over the top. If teams want to take shots against the corner in 1x1 coverage, you tend to throw toward the boundry. QBs attempting to throw on Milliner is not a knock on him, it is just a result of the defensive scheme.

We haven't played anyone worth a crap in a looong time. Even our bowl opponent sucked. That said, Bama will play a 2 top 10 teams and a top 25 team in the next four games. If Bama takes care of business, they'll play another top 5 team in the SECCG. That will make 4 top 10 teams and at least 1 top 25 team played. I know it isn't exactly Towson or Idaho, but it's decent.

What's your point? Milliner locked down wilson and his 4 receivers last year as a sophomore.

I know y'all have a first round talent in the secondary for the first time since smoot so you're excited..but sorry, bama is the best there too.

You are further proving our point. I honestly cannot imagine the numbers Banks would produce with this opportunity. Milliner gets far more opportunities to make plays on the ball, but when it comes to being a lockdown corner Banks is the best.

He's faced some awesome opposition so far this season.

Serious question, how similar do you think prep for aTm for State and Bama will be to the Michigan teams they have played in the last few years? I think it's a fair comparison.

What's your point? So no one throws at Banks. Congrats. Our defensive scheme makes it so QBs tend to have to throw it in Milliner's direction - which is the whole point of the scheme. If you have an All-American CB you typically want him in position to make a play on the ball.

Because my point is that Banks is the better corner, in fact he does better with less opportunity. Not only people not throwing at him but he also doesn't have the linebacker core to work with that Bama does and the opposing QB isn't under as much pressure. Milliner missed more coverages than you think but will never carry the blame for them because as you said he isn't a true 1v1 corner. Banks simply doesn't miss coverages and has proved it against the best 1v1. Also we don't have to utilize him the way you utilize Milliner because frankly Slay isn't far behind them, he makes some great plays and also doesn't blow coverage. This is why Patterson AND Hunter only caught 4 total passes, and that was without a single sack on Bray.
