Why? There are SO many better paths to get to Nashville.
Stop taking interstate during the morning hours and at 5 o clock.
Not sure what you expect during rush hour.

Dude, you don't know shite about Nashville. You drive from Elm Hill to downtown a few times and think you've seen Nashville? For real?
You have barely scratched the surface of Nashville.
And in the 30s? What does that mean?

The Georgia Dome and Superdome are both huge, so it keeps ticket prices lower.
I hate domes for basketball, even the close seats are not always good.
The issue is not the street scalpers but the Ticketmaster / Stub Hub scalping done with tickets that go to them instead of the actual schools the first time.

I said that the prices were overblown compared to SIMILARLY SIZED cities. Dallas is one of the 5 largest cities in the US. I expect high prices there. I can eat and stay cheaper in Memphis, Charlotte, Louisville, Lexington, Raleigh/Durham and other similarly sized or slightly smaller southern cities.
I've worked around Vandy, downtown at the arena and at Pinnacle Tower, Riverbend Prison, the US Post Office, PJPII High School, and other many other places. The Post Office is just down the street, so traffic there isn't bad. PJPII wasn't too bad. Southern Hills Hospital wasn't bad, but isn't in a great neighborhood. The others take forever. And I gave up on staying in Nashville and fighting I-24 traffic out to Murfreesboro. That took a long time to get through. Jammed up every morning, and the construction over there lasted years.

Not all of Nashville is nice and crime free. Drive Murfreesboro into downtown or go out and work in the industrial areas sometime. I know every city has its flaws, but the "Nashville is the coolest place on Earth!" refrain gets really old.
A) There's a difference in Murfreesboro and Murfreesboro Rd. And no one claimed Nashville was crime free. It's a city. There will be crime.

Who said that? I said it was the best city in the SEC.
But you have clearly seen about 10% of Nashville and don't know what the frick you're talking about.

Last I checked, Murfreesboro Rd/Pike isn't Interstate. Try actually READING. I avoid the Interstates like the plague in Nashville.

I've worked all over the damn city and most of the burbs for the last 12 years. I know Nashville pretty well at this point.

There's construction because it's one of the fastest growing cities in the country. I lived in Nashville for the bulk of my life and will be the first to tell you that after they finish construction on the major interstates, it will be for the better.
The prices are what they are because you're not in Athens, Baton Rouge or Charleston. You;re in a city. There is a legit show named after the city. They film movies there on an annual basis. There are dozens upon dozens of country celebrities who live and frequent the bars there.
There is also a pro football team and a pro hockey team. It's going to be fairly expensive.

I was a transplant from New Orleans when I was a kid and will be the first to point out the flaws of the city. But the things you listed aren't on my list.

You didn't say Murf Rd. You said Murfreesboro.
That would be I-24
try typing better next time dumbass
Murfreesboro is a city/town where MTSU is. Murfreesboro Rd. is just that, a road.

Nashville is one of the nicest cities in the US...that's why multiple major companies have chosen to relocate here. Great way of life, city is not too big or too small. Has pro sports and the economy is thriving. It's one of the hottest cities in the US right now. I wouldn't trade it for any city I've been to.

I figured a guy from Nashville would know the difference, especially when I made it clear that I stayed around Elm Hill. It runs parallel to it.
As for the 30s, that was TV market size. I was one number off. Nashville is now 29.

Funny how this guy mentions everywhere except places like Brentwood, Green Hills, Bellevue, and The Gulch.
His job apparently has him working in Antioch all the time.
Get a better job.

Williamson county schools are where it's at
I hope my job sends me back there. I'll either live downtown again, or in Brentwood.
eta or the gulch if I can land this ONE account

I attended the SEC tourney in Nashville last year...it's a very good venue. Domes are not made for basketball.
Posted on 10/14/13 at 9:14 pm to tiger81
Bridgestone isn't the best venue, I'll certainly admit that. But Nashville is a city that people will be willing to travel to.
