Arenas, Chapman, Dareus, and Cody were all 2 or 3 stars.
Javier Arenas was so far under the radar that Mike Shula never even let him play a snap at CB his freshman year. Huge surprise to Bama fans when Saban started letting Javy get time at CB in practice.
Don't know if that says more about Arenas' being under the radar, or MIke Shula's radar not being worth a shite.

no way. that touchdown run where he celebrated was one of the best plays of the year. plus, he boots the shite out of the ball with either feet. he might be my favorite player on LSU

Houston Nutt on some radio show recently claimed that DMAC was a 2 star.
Ol Nutters, that dude is so full of shite.

Yeah it's weird seeing how he had offers prety much no where and now he is one of the best if not the best linebacker in the NFL right now.

Demeco Ryans went from no name 2-star recruit to university poster boy and nfl pro bowler in about 5 years time.

Karlos Dansby was a lightly-recruited wide receiver out of a small HS in Bham. Nick Fairley was an offensive guard, but I think he was a 3 star (maybe 4 star in one publication).

I know I saw one aggy mention Von Miller... both rivals and scout have him listed as a 4 star player.... Now I am by no means doubting what you've seen before now. I have checked the recruiting pages of many players years later (usually when they've gone pro) to find that both rivals and scout gave them a 1-2 star boost to save face.... In my mind it further proves that they couldn't predict a bad storm coming with black clouds outside...

5 star number 2 athlete.
Trying to make it sound like he developed dmac and felix into the giant killers they were.
He was so fricking lucky Matt Jones and DMAC were born in Arkansas.
eta. Peyton Hillis was highly rated too if I'm not mistaken.

High School in Mobile, Williamson.
He was recruited as an offensive guard by some, and it even said that on his 2007 recruiting profile. Went to a JuCo, was taken by Chizik after Tubs was fired, and the rest is history.

Dmac= 5 star on rivals and 4 star on scout
F-Jones= 4 star on rivals and 3 star on scout
P-Hillis= 4 star on both scout and rivals
So yeah, it wasn't like it was a HUGE shock that he got the production out of them like he did...
And yeah, he is veryyy lucky to have had both DMac and Matt Jones come out of Arkansas... otherwise, maybe Ole Miss would be relevant today???

Oh yeah...tough tough area...competes well with Vigor I believe, though a lower classification if I remember right. Williamson, lol, that explains the demeanor.

thats where Jamarcus Russell went to. CSB
he played on the offensive and defensive line there and even played some tight end, also played basketball.

That's assuming that he tanks at Arky and doesn't get hired by Ole Miss.... but I'm sure Ole Miss would have found another flash in the pan coach to lead them to below mediocrity...

I may be getting my Mobile area schools mixed up, but didn't Pat White go to the same high school?

Edit: Now that I think of it, I think White went to "Dawf-ny" or "Daf-ny" or however you "Mobilites" say it...
