Gragg and Cobi should be the top.

I think the all SEC team is looking for more out of a TE than just scampering around grabbing 5 yard curls. Gragg has good numbers, but TE is a position that people look at more than just yards.

He is our top returning LB. Trust me....he will be the starter.

It was from one of the posters on Alabama's rivals website who went to the coaching clinic. He had a really long post which broke down everything that he saw and heard from the clinic. According to him, DePriest and Johnson are projected to be the starters with Mosley as the lead backup. There are people from several sites reporting this so it's not just one guys who's saying it.

No love for Mingo?

I have plenty of love for Mingo, but DL is probably the deepest position in the SEC this year. Mingo, Jesse Williams, John Jenkins, Freak Johnson, and several others are good enough to be 1st teamers.

with all due respect...did you even consider Johnathan Banks at DB?

I did. Like I said, that 4th DB spot was a tough one. No one really stood out once I got past the top 3. Loads of good but not elite DB's in the SEC this year.

12.6 avg.... And he is a good TE blocker.

We just had a TE win the Mackey Award running the same plays as Gragg. I'll take my chances on him being All-SEC at the end of the year if he has a big season.

The last DB was a tough one to decide on

A Mizzou name to remember at DB will be E.J. Gaines. He made All Big 12 as a Sophomore last year. I'm not going to say he should make the list yet since we haven't played a SEC game, just introducing a player that is not well known on the SECr yet.

If he has a year like last season, Ryan Swope gets one of those spots.

TE: Chris Gragg-Arkansas

I look at him sort of like a Jacob Tamme with Peyton Manning.....just a system guy. He does not really impress me from a raw talent standpoint. He simply plays in a system that throws to the TE a lot and finds ways to get him open. If Lutz played for Arky with Wilson throwing the ball, Lutz would be an All America candidate.

Agreed, but I don't think aTm has anyone who can get him the ball.

We are talking about a system that just produced the Mackey Award Winning TE in DJ Williams. Sure its a system that utilizes the TE position but at the same time it takes great talent for that "system" position to work well. Last year we had arguably the 3 best WR's in the nation starting and he still got significant receptions.

I think your list is perfect except you have three DE's and one DT.

Bennie Logan, Freak, Josh Boyd, Jesse Williams, Shariff Floyd, and Kaleb Eulls are all possible candidates.

You had the three best "system" wide receivers starting last year, and he was in that same system.

Name a team that Adams, Wright, and Childs(Pre-injury) would have not started for.

We literally had this exact same argument with LSU fans this past season. They said that Arkansas was a system and that Reuben Randle would get All-SEC over Jarius Wright despite Wright's significantly better #'s because he was a better receiver and a better pro prospect. Guess what....Wright got the nod.

Voters love stats and if a TE has 700 yards receiving versus 300 he may very well get the nod on that alone, system or not.

Of course Lutzie is a better pro prospect as is Randle. Both would have dominated in our offense. That doesn't mean they will necessarily be All-SEC if they don't put up better numbers.

Of course none of this matters because Mizzou's "TE" will probably go for 1,000 yards and run away with the award.

Say you ran Bama or LSU's offense. Do you honestly think you would see them starting?

A healthy Greg Childs would have started for every single SEC team. Not a doubt in my mind.

They would've started, because they're all good wide receivers, but you think they were the three greatest wide receivers in the NCAA? As in:
1. Adams?
2. Wright?
3. Childs?
Because that is really dumb. I think you probably mean they were the best trio (even though you didn't say it), which may be true, but they were in a pass heavy system, so it doesn't really matter.
