Greg Maddox was badass in 95.

Still wasnt that good in the post-season. Smoltz, Glavine and even Avery outpitched him in the PS. Smoltz is one of the best ever in the PS. Maddux just couldnt get it done consistently once the regular season was over.

Wtf happened to Mark Wohlers? Dude was a fierce closer and then after 95' he started throwing pitches into the fricking dugout.

His Wife left him...psychologically, I dont think he ever recovered while he was still playing.

Figured it was something like that. It was as if someone switch the light off with him.

Obviously he has no chance of winning it. However, I could see him getting a New York invite if he has a 3 touchdown 0 interception type game.

That would give him the top qb rating, 36 total touchdowns to 7 ints, #2 ranked team, and two wins against #2 ranked teams away from UGA.

Hard but doable.

No doubt, he was the cherry on top of a great pitching staff.

Mark Wohlers issues reminded me of a Dodgers second baseman from many years back, I think his name was Steve Sax, that had to give up the game because he suddenly couldn't make a throw to first base.

It was Steve Sax.

Also, Rick Ankiel was the second coming of Koufax until his dad died...then he couldnt pitch. The mind is a powerful thing.

It's reasonable. He's statistically one of the top QB's in the nation. If he beats Bama and plays well doing it he will have a signature win and will be heading to the BCSCG. If all of this goes down, he'll be going to New York. And seriously, who else is going to go? JFF will probably win the thing but who else gets invited?

Johnny Manziel.
Manti Te'o.
One of the Oregon dudes.
Collin Klein.

Can't really think of anyone else.

He hasn't played the 4th quarter in the last 3 games. He could easily have 300 more yards and 4 more touchdowns right now.

Except for LSU and A&M, McCarron barely played the second half of any game this year.

I think he will be there, but I was involved in a couple of threads last night discussing why he shouldn't be there.

Yep, perfect synopsis of Georgia's soft schedule this year. Zack Mettenberger would have Murray's numbers or close with that schedule.

Te'O is the main reason I want UGA to be in that game. I dont have any deep seated dislike for Bama so hatin' on the other SEC team is never a really big deal to me. I would just like for the nation to see JMFJ #29 show out on national TV with Te'O there for the announcers to be able to make the direct comparisons. Of course, they will say that Te'O is an ILB and JMFJ is an OLB...ok, so how is he stacking up against 'tree?

If Bama goes, I will be rooting for them but of course the Te'O intrigue is gone. It will just be Bama beating hell out of Everet Golson all night.
