bullshite...He crawled into bed with Petrino in the middle of the night and stole him away from the Falcons...he knew what he was getting. I laughed my arse off watching him cry about it last night. I feel 0 sympathy for anybody except Petrino's family.

Pretty hard to look into a guy's personal life before you hire him. He didn't start this relationship until AFTER he was hired. You absolutely CANNOT blame Long for this crap.
Best line from his presser:
"No single individual is bigger than the team."

Exactly- how can you equate leaving jobs to what just went down? You can't.

There were tons of red flags about Petrino before he was hired. We all, including Long, knew he was a liar. We knew he was a very unethical person.
Did you listen to Long's press conference? Petrino wasn't fired for the affair. He was fired for not being honest with the AD and for his poor ethical decisions in hiring the tramp. Lies & ethics - Long has no excuses.

donations to the athletic department are up 359% since Petrino was hired and football revenue has increased 59% from last year.
all those asking why he hired him in the first are fricking stupid.

I'm sure the CFO of Enron in sitting around the Federal Prison bragging about how high he got the stock price.
It is all nonsense if you end up disgraced.

It’s hard to feel too sorry for Long. Though he tried to deny it last night in response to a question, he knew what kind of man he was hiring when he offered Petrino the position in the first place...
The irony here is that the pressure to succeed that Petrino would have been under had he survived this mess fully transfers to Long...
He’ll get one crack at hiring a permanent replacement and if the program slides back into mediocrity, it’s likely he’ll be shown the door along with his coach.

you realize this revenue allowed us to build a new football facility which could help in recruiting (and paying)a new coach right?

THIS

Long made the right move hiring Petrino. It was Petrino who made the WRONG move to hire AND screw this girl. Would Long have a job if he passed on taking Petrino based on some speculative allegations of Petrino's character?

Even though I totally agree with the final decision that Mr. Long came up with, there was one reporter that asked him a question after his press conference last night that he basically said he didn't agree with his take on...something to the effect that based on the way that BP left the Atlanta Falcons and came to Arkansas, should Jeff Long be surprised with the outcome. I will say, after living through the Saban years at LSU and the way he left for Miami and then Alabama, that Jeff Long SHOULD NOT have been surprised. Loyalty is a non-existent word in the English dictionary any longer. It's every man for himself, if it feels good, do it, I'm OK, You're OK. Until that attitude changes and money and power loose their appeal, just live with it.
