Is it a trap?

I have no hate for the MS dawgs but I can't understand why it is the dead man walking of coaching jobs.

What gives? I would love for Mullen to do well. I just think it is a long row to hoe.

Well, it ain't easy, that's for sure. Jackie Sherril was the only coach to have any long term success, and he was at or below .500 for his career there.

I think Mullen will turn things around for the most part.

Will have a hell of a quarterback for the next 4 years, assuming he doesn't leave early.

Yes a good quarterback at Miss. State is rare, but Russell appears to be the real deal.

Strangely enough, gatahs give me the creeps too. They are way to effing quiet in the water. Swimming in their "pool" causes palpitations for me.

The Swamp. Where only Gatahs get out alive.

Yeah, he appears to have the lunch punch card at the local buffet.

Speaking of food, I needs me some Jimmy Ray's lemon pie right about now.

Smaller budget, smaller stadium, small town.

Everything seems to be stacked against MSU for recruiting, facilities, etc.

Lazy alert!

What is the enrollment at MSU?

How about Starkvegas population?

How about stadium size?

Thanks Dawgs. You are my new favorite West team.

Ultimately success cannot be sustained there. Jackie Sherill's best years were when his recruiting classes consisted of more JUCOs than high schoolers, but that's not a very good long term strategy and it blew up in his face. In today's SEC more than ever, it will be near impossible to attract top flight talent to Starkville.

Behind that offensive line, and the offensive change, we won't "see soon enough". Not to mention he's a freshman QB at Miss. State. I'm not even sure Russell is the right QB for Mullen's offense.
