Buddy of mine has a 1957 Gibson Les Paul Gold Top... wouldn't think of selling it for less than 5 G's

Elixir strings for Acoustic are the best available IMO... a little pricy, but worth it.

He was broke and needed rent money. He was taking it to a guitar shop to sell, but they wouldn't buy it b/c the pups were changed out. I told him I'd give him 250.00 just joking and he said "If you'll give me 350.00 I'll sell it." I talked him down to 300.00.
It's plays sweet. It'll prob. be my main guitar when I get the pups changed and the frets leveled and polished.

Rather spend a little more and be happy with the sound than go cheaper and be disappointed.

Amazing deal. If you ever decide to sell you should have no problem making a profit off of it

Yeah, the necks go for 600 or 700 on e-bay alone. But, I'm gonna keep it. It's one of the best strat's I've ever played.

If I keep progressing in my lessons like I have been I am going to break down and buy my something really nice here in the next year or so.

my only advice would be to play as many different kinds of guitars as you can. I now have 3 strats and each plays different.
In fact, this EJ is the only guitar I've ever bought without playing it first...but I knew if I didn't like it I could rid myself of it easily. There are a ton of quality guitars out there that won't break your bank....but a good, high end guitar almost always increases in value.

I love my Ibanez semi-hollow I have now so I am happy with it and can really take my time looking. Im a getting an acoustic in the next month or so, but I am going to let my guitar teacher help me pick it out to make sure I get something that isn't going to give me problems down the road.

Ibanez semi-hollow
I had an Ibanez AS73 semi-hollow that was a great guitar. I sold it to my best friend, because it was just sitting there and it needed to be played. Ibanez makes great stuff for the price IMO.
