Charles Scott was an absolutely punishing runner and fun to watch. That guy almost single handedly made the ‘08 UGA-LSU game a contest. Weird that he seems almost forgotten.
For me, I’m going to say Fred Gibson for UGA. Lots of folks love to hate on Fret, but he was the big play receiver on UGA’s team in the early Richt years. Dude could disappear over the middle, sure, but then run a kick back or make a catch so acrobatic it was ridiculous.
He was big on the ‘01-04 teams.

quote:Good call. I was thinking him or Rafael Little. Doesnt see. Like we give him much talk, but he was a helluva RB.
Avery Williamson. Never got the hype of any of the edge rushing linebackers like Josh Allen, Bud Dupree and Danny Trevethan. He also followed Wesley Woodyard who was incredibly popular. Williamson was 7th in the country in tackles his JR year and second team All SEC his senior year. He's been a solid NFL starter though.

Any DT that can keep OL from getting to the linebackers.
And Cameron Artis Payne

Play or player? Player for State would have to be Darius Slay. Jonathan Banks won the Thorpe trophy in 2012 and wasn’t even the best DB on the team.
Agree. Slay got no recognition but it was simply because no one was dumb enough to throw at him. Glad to see him getting that recognition now though.
