I don't get it. Arkansas is #2 and above 10 other SEC teams in this ranking and you feel the need to single out LSU. This shite is really getting out of hand on this board. I used to enjoy this board when it first opened, but the consistent douchebaggery of some people on here is really getting old.

in the modern era no one talks about anything other than the AP and BCS/UPI/Coaches

Because Arkansiana has a terrible ring to it. Owning this thing was a good idea in theory but it brings up unforeseen challenges. It's thirsty work to be sure.

It seems that every college football championship is questionable in some way. It always will be until there is a playoff system. But Arkansas has just as much right to claim the '64 title as Bama does.

look... I would be fine with alabama having one less championship... it is not like they are a modest fan base with no success to brag about
but there are really only a couple recognized ways to be declared champs in football... and Alabama was awarded them in 1964

Probably not since Bama lost to a weak Texas team Arkansas beat while Arkansas beat a Nebraska team that was pretty good.
Arkansas was awarded a national championship, they have every right to claim it. 1964 isn't the only year that there is more than one team who can claim a national championship for the season...
