Okay? You were able to make a move up that ladder with one good hire in Saban back in the early part of the decade. Prior to that 6 year stretch, LSU was just a top 20-25 program.

80's were good...not great
LSU in the 80s averaged out exactly to 7-4 I think... above average but not great
by means of comparison... arkansas for the 2000s was an average of 7-5 (just over 5 losses actually) for that decade
and LSU in the 90s was 54-58... under .500 for a decade... just not good (obviously worse than their 80s for example - and far and away their worst decade of football in their history)

There was no error in my logic.
From 1962-2000 LSU was a mediocre program, who stumbled upon a good hire in Saban that laid the foundation to win a lot of games.
LSU ranked 22nd in win pct. from 62-00

That's terrific
But all-time, LSU>>>Arky
And Arkansas doesn't really have much to be proud of. Sorry to break it to you

Maybe not as good as LSU's, but we're 21st in all-time wins and the future looks bright.
If it wasn't for 2000-2007, LSU wouldn't have much to speak of

Tool? You've already proven your knowledge of your own team and college football in general in this thread.
Enjoy that elite company with South Carolina, Vandy, Ole Miss and Kentucky.

Pretty much every team in the SEC's future looks bright with the exception of UK, Vandy and Ole Piss

We just needed someone to wake the sleeping giant. LSU had everything to be successful--we just needed to find the right coach.

This thread is like the 1947 Ice Bowl. No one is going to win.

with the exception of the 90s which were bad... and the 00s which have been very good... most of LSU decades seem to hover around the same relative winning percentage
Saban was a good coach and had two nice seasons at LSU - winning 10 games in 2001 and 13 in 2003... but claiming a guy who won less than 50 games at a school is throwing off over 100 years of records is fairly retarded for even a famously bad poster like you

Take away all of our wins/championships from 2000-07 and we are still better than Arky is all-time

Not necessarily....LSU again, was fortunate for 2001-2007 run and becoming the first 2 loss national champion.
LSU still has only had 1 undefeated season in the modern era of football. LSU had a great, great stretch from 01-07, but nothing but mostly mediocre football before.

That's a joke. LSU has all around better athletes on D-line and it's not even close.

That's all fine and dandy. And I'll agree with you that Petrino has a good program going.
But I'll tell you where LSU fans take exception with what some Arkansas fans are saying, more like wishing.
Why do you think LSU and Arkansas' "futures" are mutually exclusive? It's possible that both teams are good for years to come.
LSU ain't going anywhere. We get consistent top 5-8 recruiting classes and get top coaches from all over. Just because Arkansas isn't on par with Mississippi State or Ole Miss anymore, doesn't mean LSU is spiraling down the drain.
Again, that's more of a wish from the hog faithful. LSU is a top 5 program in the country, no matter how badly you don't want it to be.

Not really.

I apologize. When I hear Ice Bowl, I think of the 1967 Packers vs. Cowboys game.

Sounds like what many Arkansas fans say now, which is the point to my rant.
You guys have a good day!

13 pages of 'we are not your rival' but 'you sure piss us off and we hate you' from LSU fans, LOL.
Well, LSU fans... may as well get used to it. Like the feral hogs that seem to be taking over, our Hogs are here to stay and wallow all in your pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving weekends. We really kind of get a kick out of it, sorry that it's at your expense.
