I don't know if I buy the "McCluster stumbled" excuse.
I would never expect you too. But since we are on the topic of comapring players I have 2 questions for you:
1. How many players does State have at the combine?
2. Why don't you mention how Dex out-lifted Dixon on bench?

Are he and Dixon the only two that will possibly get drafted from State this year? If so, where is Dixon projected? 2nd or 3rd?

You can't be serious

That cut he does on this play is just fricking sick. I think #41 from UT is still digging his cleats up

Lovin it man. Right when I saw it I spit my lunch break dip all over my desk. Kudos good sir.

Chaney is fast enough that he wouldn't have even had to cut...

Pure Speed: Chaney> Bolt

That's because you're not stupid.

Back to McCluster(170 lb's or so) out benching Dixon(230 or so). Is this true.

This. Chaney isn't faster than Dex and Dex is not stronger than Dixon. These drills are tests. They don't mean everything.

They must be set up for these types of things to happen

Everyone, read this. Stop taking the combine so seriously. It's like recruiting, plenty of 5-stars pan out, and plenty of 5-stars are busts. Just like how plenty of combine all-stars fail in the NFL and vice versa.

Dixon has much longer arms than McCluster.

Exactly. He looks like he has really long arms.

IMO Dex doing more reps than Dixon on bench just means that Dex was in better shape lifting-wise. From what I hear, it is a pretty safe assumption that Dixon has been puffing the magic dragon since the Egg Bowl with his boi Relf.
But think about it, alot can go wrong when you are running a 40. So many things go into having a good time, we are talking about small fractions of a second here.
In contrast, bench press is bench press. There is required technique but not near as much as successfully running a 40. Not being a homer and congrats to AD for running a solid 40. It will help him alot obviously. But, to me personally, it is more surprising that Dex outlifted Dixon than Dixon having a faster 40.

Yeah, but he is lifting something that is less than his body weight while McCluster is lifting like 130%(not sure on the number, don't have calculator handy) of his body weight

Well he most likely has longer legs too.
Posted on 3/3/10 at 2:53 pm to RebFeBrees
Not to mention bigger and stronger legs built for an NFL caliber back.

Shouldn't he have bigger and stronger arms built for an NFL caliber back that could bench less weight than he weighs more times than Dexter could
