We’d didn’t think enough of him to keep him around and upgrade him to OC and instead went out and found Moore.

Well, he technically already was the OC. Drink just called the plays. Regardless, your point is well taken since Drink could have locked him down as his do-everything OC, but he chose to slow play Hamden who read the writing on the wall and bolted for Boise.
Now, the bigger question is: Will DeBoer come after Kirby Moore?
