Pinkel was a good coach but not a great one (see 2013 Auburn). His schemes were average and his recruiting was nothing to write home about

I view Missouri as the better program today even after the insane year they had.

They're not better at the moment, but I think most Missouri fans feel Barry Odom has the coaching acumen and drive to take the program to a higher level than Pinkel. His mental make-up seems ideal.
