We went through Kansas to go to the CWS in ‘08.

We took a different route on the way back specifically to not go through Kansas.

Who the hell would do that?

And regarding the Missouri to Colorado comment
Why not just fly?

Well, I was 14 when I traveled across that Neverending hellscape. My fricking dad was/is cheap. This was also before cell phones.

I fly, of course, being the baller I am

You have taken the logo of every team we have played for like the past 4 games. Why don’t you have a Bama logo?

Figures, whole bunch of trailer parks there.
Think it’s 1 or 2 with SC
But it’s called Ozark
So what’s it depicting?

Kansas swallows everything.....if ISIS invaded that wasteland of Kansas I'd pull up a lawn chair with cooler of beer and cheer for ISIS.

We drive through Kansas almost every year and I'll say the level of hyperbole in this thread is amazing. We have seen a lot of cool stuff and met so many nice people there (and everywhere for that matter).

For example, when my son was just about 2 we stopped in Salina, KS to get him a frostie after he woke from a nap in the car. It was late on a Sunday afternoon. Somehow we ended up at the Yesteryear Museum. It was closed, but the owner said we could walk the grounds as we'd been cooped up in the car for a while and everyone needed to stretch their legs. We talked to him for a while and when we were about to leave, he gives my son a wooden tractor that was hand made by an 80+ year old guys that volunteers at the museum. We still have it and it's one of our prized possessions.

Another time we were stopped at a little 2 pump gas station in a small town in Southern KS. We pull a 25' Airstream trailer with us on our trips so we standout sometimes. Anyway, a guy pulls up in his old farm truck and we give each other a wave. He looks at our tag and sees were from UT and says, "You guys are a long way from home" and we strike up a conversation with each other. Turns out he's a rancher on a "small" 3,500 acre cattle ranch. Then he pipes up, "Hey has your son ever fed a cow? I've got some really friendly cows." Next thing you know, we're in his truck flying down the country roads and bee-bopping around on his ranch. That was an awesome experience for us that one just couldn't get from flying.

I'll say that I've seen more of and learned more about the country in the 6-8 years we've been doing these cross country trips than I did in the rest of my previous 40 something years combined.
