Yeah all time/tradition.
I've seen State in a final four and at Omaha a couple of times. I will admit, Ole Miss has closed the gap in baseball here recently.

Right, but we're choking in the super-regionals while Miss. St. is batting .300 in win pct.
Top 16 in the country>last place in the SEC.

Ole Miss has to get to Omaha here in the near future to help validate the program. They are close to getting there. I can't wait for the LSU/Ole Miss series in baseball this year.

My problem with the whole Ole Miss is better in football and that is all that matters argument is Ole Miss has zero accomplishments in football State has one. Making it to Atlanta. State has many accomplishments in Baseball and Basketball.

Um we've won 6 SEC championships.
Like real ones. And we've got three national championships, only the 1960 is really legit, though.
State took an 8 win season into Atlanta and got pummeled 10 years ago, and they'll be bragging about it until we get a championship. Nevermind that State won half as many games as we did this past decade. Or that we won 10 more games than they did in their best decade ever.
I'm not arguing that State has less tradition in Baseball or Basketball. They don't.
But State is the one of two teams in the SEC west with a below .500 record all time in football.

Hey Cdawg, chill out.
I know the last two years have been the worst years in State baseball in a while. But Ole Miss has been consistently top 25 while State's had a rough stretch. I know we haven't been to Omaha, but they play the regular season for a reason.

We were leading Tennessee (the team that won the National Championship that year) 14-10 in the fourth quarter. And eventually only lost 24-14. It was a 3 point game until Tennessee scored a late TD with under 3 minutes to go.
I dont exactly consider that getting pummeled.

Damn you Ole Miss fans are full of excuses.
Fact: Mississippi State has been to Atlanta for the SEC Championship in football, Ole Miss Hasn't.
Fact: Mississippi State has been to the Final 4 in Basketball Ole Miss hasnt, and State has been to the NCAA tournament more times this decade than you have been to in the history of your program.
Fact: Since 1971 State has been to Omaha to the College World Series 7 times, while Ole Miss is yet to go (Southern Miss has even been to Omaha during that time span)
Argue all you want to Ole Miss fans but those are facts, and try as you might its hard to Argue with Facts.
