Still counts. It's based on the entire SEC season. Which we had the same record with as the National Champs. Y'all won the stuff that mattered, celebrate that instead of raining on our parade.

With all of that said, why do y'all still have "Auburn syndrome" toward us?

The only thing Ole Miss has on us is football over the past thirty years. If you include basketball and baseball, they can't say a word. Anyway, we've been to Atlanta, they haven't. We have a better history in basketball and have a final four appearance , and we have been to the CWS recently. They are currently ranked in football and baseball, but both of those programs are on the rise for us, whether you want to admit it or not. You can look at it a thousand different ways. Speaking on the past thirty years in the big three sports though, we definitely have the advantage.

Didn't I read on here that State and Vandy are the only two SEC schools with alltime losing records in football?

Here's more. From a spreadsheet I started a few years ago (it only goes back to 1976, which was 30 years ago at the time) :

Several summaries of MSU vs OM stats/records: (including 2009 Baseball and Basketball and 2009 Football):

Head-To-Head Wins since 1976 (including 2009 Baseball and Basketball and Football):

Football: MSU 15, Ole Miss 19 (Ole Miss by 4)
Basketball: MSU 39, Ole Miss 30 (MSU by 9)
Baseball: MSU 98, Ole Miss 64 (MSU by 34)
Big3 Total: MSU 152, Ole Miss 113 (MSU by 39!)

Total Wins Against All Opponents since 1976 (including 2009 Baseball and Basketball and 2009 Football):

Football: MSU 178, Ole Miss 201 (Ole Miss by 23—just .68 wins per season more)
Basketball: MSU 562, Ole Miss 503 (MSU by 59 )
Baseball: MSU 1328 Ole Miss 1067 (MSU by 261 )
Big3 Total: MSU 2068, Ole Miss 1771 (MSU by 297!)

SEC Wins since 1976 (including 2009 Baseball and Basketball and 2009 Football):

Football: MSU 83, Ole Miss 97 (Ole Miss by 14--only .4 SEC wins per season more)
Basketball: MSU 260, Ole Miss 220 (MSU by 40)
Baseball: MSU 491, Ole Miss 410 (MSU by 81)
Big3 Total: MSU 834, Ole Miss 727 (MSU by 107!)

Case in point, Ole Miss was ranked 4th at the beginning of 2009.

Has State even gotten close to being ranked 4th?

We don't. You guys are the ones worried about us all the time. I was just answering the OP. Maybe some state fans don't appreciate you acting superior for no reason.

Y'all just started talking smack after the Egg Bowl. So now we're all butthurt and firing back.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who enjoys the banter?

I enjoy it too, but I never know how to answer stuff cuz I know some people will take it too seriously and it goes both ways.

It's an internet message board about a hobby, why take any of it seriously?

I'd go ahead and make the argument that State does more than any other SEC program if you factor in athletic budgets.

Doesn't matter in the real world. Why hover in mediocrity when you can buy greatness?

at irony of Ole Miss fan saying anything like that. We're in the same boat.

State has accomplished more on a national and conference level in the past 50 years. Agree or disagre

Disagree.

Ole Miss has been better than Miss. State at Football since the 40's.

Football is the only sport that really counts.

At the current moment Ole Miss is better than State at Football, Baseball, and almost even in Basketball. Just over the past five years, that is.

Have no dog in this fight. Just my opinion.

Ole Miss>State in football
State> Ole Miss in basketball
State> Ole Miss in baseball

I'm assuming that this is all time?

As of recently we've owned the whole baseball thing.

Just like Atlanta does.

I love how the regular season doesn't matter for State fans. It's all about the post-season.

And you don't have to win a championship, you just have to be one step closer than Ole Miss to winning a championship.
