Believe your Great Uncle was likely “Greatest Generation”.
“Silent Generation” was a smaller generation, very few people seem to ever identify them. They were a sandwich generation, like Gen X. These are 80 year olds and up now. Very kind, small generation that quietly shaped history after 1945.

Cook up some better rage bait. Britain was at their knees. We took too long to get into it like in WWI to help Europe. The Red Army helped us defeat the Germans more than anyone else in the fight one the eastern front.

My Great Uncle’s story was a story of “The Greatest Generation”, WWII
Combat Vet.
His generation’s children, the Baby Boomer Generation was everyone born after everyone came back from war and had babies circa 1945 birth date and up until late 60’s.

Over 90% of the United States Army combatants opposed joining the war in Europe and believed the entire war to be “propped up on bankers special interests.” Eisenhower has a famous quote, “if you ask 100 of my men what they were doing in Europe, 96 of them would say they don’t know”

The Silent Generation was the generation between the Greatest Generation and The Baby Boomers. Very small due to Great Depression, only 23 million. Some of the best folks you could’ve ever met, the youngest are 80 right now.
