He doesn't want what happened last year to happen again.
He did this last year as well....what was the excuse then?
as far as what would I do if I were in his shoes?.......simple...
DO BETTER! or get some proven recruiters. It doesn't look like he's done the latter.

Mack Brown does similar at Texas. He is kinda lazy in recruiting, IMO, and takes the talent the school attracts on its own account. This is obviously at a much higher level than what Ms. State is able to attract when using the same strategy.
but like you said....Texas can recruit themselves.

He brought in two young guys to recruit in Angelo Mirando who has Jason Croom all but sewed up and Geoff Collins who has some recruits we are after in GA and AL

Geoff Collins
you mean the guy who "claimed" to be the mastermind behind Saban's big 2008 class?
or is he the guys who's qualification is mainly the 75 page paper he wrote on recruiting?
I said PROVEN.....none of those are proven as of yet.

What do you expect from a head coach who fits the same description as the one you list for his assistants?

Just got an update that 5 star recruit Quay Evans is having a blast and getting a lot of attention from the staff and he is spending a lot of time with our commits Deonte Evans (no relation) and Cedric Jiles.

I think Al is angelo mirando, because no one other than him would have put any effort into starting a thread on him.

FWIW Angelo is the youngest assistant on any staff in the SEC at 25 a lot of the guys he is recruiting really like him and relate to him.

Quay Evans ran a 4.9 tonight and has named Mississippi State as his leader and said he will take officials to MSU, Ole Miss, Alabama, USC, and Oregon.
Nut sure why LSU fans constantly act like they are in the mix for Quay.
