quote:No, but let's be honest: You didn't create this thread to announce Grindle and a bunch of unknowns were heading to Starkville.
I wouldn't exactly call Grindle a diamond in the rough.

Barnes had the best time of anybody at our camp. I think he redshirts and works with our staff and will develop into a solid player for us
Of course he RS and of course you think he'll develop into a solid player. I really wasnt hating on the kid, just your over-ambiance of everyone you sign. A month ago you were telling me he ran a 4.28 and I had to prove to you he's not even the fastest kid in 4a. Now his 40 goes up a whole second and I see that film. Theres no reason to think he'll suck, but theres no reason to think he's any good.

He hasn't committed to my knowledge.

Just got a tweet saying that Channing Ward elected not to go to Ole Miss' camp today.
Can we see it? If true that blows. It doesnt mean anything serious, but its certainly not good.

I thought Ole Miss fan was arrogant and cocky for finishing in the top half of the west, then your school and fan base finished 5th that one year...
We have as many top 15 finishes nationally as the Pigs do under our new coaches- except yours has had 3 years, and ours only 2
Just sayin

It was tweeted by Keith Nieuber the regional Rivals guy who covered our camp last night and is covering Ole Miss' today.

He seems to be a good guy to follow.

I think he is the Rivals regional guy for most of the southeast.
I noticed very few of the same kids we are recruiting and who were at our camp on the list of Ole Miss campers on OM Rivlas' site

AJ Jefferson was there, besides him we share interest in only Quay, Channing, and LB boy

let me enlighten you

Mullen will realize this year that you move when the stock is high
aGAIN- Mullen isnt leaving State until Penn State makes a coaching change. He wants that job more than any- UNLESS he gets a top-10 type job.
Dont get your hopes up on him leaving for 2-3 more years. However, if he does, you will then face Gus Malzahn or Manny Diaz as the head coach- both are aware they are top candidates should Mullen leave.

Looking at these games, I don't see State winning any:
LSU
Bama
Arky (at Little Rock)
Georgia (in Athens)
South Carolina
you didnt see us going 9-4 last season and finishing in the top 15 in the nation- why will you suddenly be right this time?
Hell, you were dumb enough to think your team would have a winning season last year. And this year for that matter.
quote:
At least when Ole Miss was hyped we finished second in the West the year before and went to a top tier SEC bowl game
you only finished 2nd in the West because State had Crooms, UPig and Auburn had losing records also, and LSU was rebuilding after winning their title.
You finished 15th in the nation that season as 2nd in the West- we finished 15th in the nation 5th in the West.
We're being hyped because we have a better team than we had last year and we have a better coach than what you have. What's even better, you guys cant fire Nutts even after another losing season and beatdown in Starkville.
Enjoy your recruiting title- it's the only damn thing you're winning- this November's win will make us 6-3 vs you the last 9 years- and 3rd in a row. Hang in there Little Brother

I just can't get into recruiting this early. Hell I didn't even know Ole Miss had a camp going on this weekend until I read it in this thread.

I'm not talking any recruiting- I'm talking on the field results
We'll find out who won Febuary in another year or so

Did Banks end up committing?

No, we are telling him to hold off as we evaluate our situation at DT. With new interest coming from Nick James, and a great performance by AJ Jefferson we are going to be tight on numbers at DT/DE.
Banks wants to commit to State, and when we give him the green light, which is soon I expect him to commit to us.
What is the latest on Cowan? Is he committing to yall today?
