so your theory is that it's MSU fans trying to sabotage your massive edge in college athletics by bringing back a beloved mascot?!?
Ask MSU fans if they want us to use Col. Rebel again.....they'll tell you "yes".
And like I said.....the fact that they're holding the petition at the MSU-LSU game makes it pretty obvious.
hell....even the Col. Rebel Foundation has all but given up. Pay attention to what MSU fans here post. There's at least one bullshite rumor started by MSU fans a week on their boards that eventually make it here. If Ole Miss fans wanted to go political to get Col. Rebel back, we'd have done that back in 2002-2003.

From Gainsville? frick that shite.
Also, I'm skipping the UF UT game, because frick Derrick Dooley and heading to Nashville fri night to see the Rebs probably lose to Vandy, check out that American Pickers store, and watch the Titan's wipe the floor with Ray Lewis' head.
I mean that literally. Jake Locker is going to rip Ray Lewis head off and proceed to wipe the endzone with it.

Pickers has a store in Nashville. I would love to get ahold of that chick they leave at the store all the time while they are out pickin

Yup.
They also did a lot of picking for Cracker Barrel who is based out of Lebanon, TN and has a giant warehouse full of stuff like that.

IMO Col. Reb and Ole Miss are synonymous. Take him away and UM is just another ho-hum place. Maybe Black students aren't totally enamored with this symbol of the old South as a mascot, but it is definitely part of the Ole Miss heritage, like it or not. I think the removal of the Col. as mascot is as wrong-headed, PC-ridiculous as efforts at removal of various references to Native American names and tribes from other teams have been.
That said, however, does not mean any form of actual racism at Ole Miss or anywhere is acceptable. One sign of progress is how the entire student body has embraced athletes of every race who play for Ole Miss. But bring back Col. Reb? It's still a tough call.

not going to reads thru 8 pages of this but....
it was ridiculous to change, Ole Miss will always be the Rebels and Col Rebel will always be the Mascot, I am sick and tired of the pussification of the USA and don't bring up that racist bullshite.....
I am one Tiger fan who wants this to go back to the way it was. Hell, I wish Ole Miss would get back to the Johnny Vaught days too. LSU/Ole Miss was THE game of the year for many many years.

technically......they're trying to force us to change TO Col. Rebel as our mascot. Pretty dumb statement on your part.

and you're one Tiger fan who doesn't know wtf he's talking about. Col. Rebel wasn't our mascot in the days of Johnny Vaught.

Pank hates Col Reb, I think he touched him in a no no place in the bathroom at the stadium.

a racist initiative.
What isn't racist today??? We are talking about tradition...and for all the young black athletes, exactly what percentage of them have experienced slavery or racism?? These kids have been given money, girls, bling, etc., just to go to these schools, the rest of us can only dream to have such goodies. Most of us experience more racism from reverse-discrimmination today...chill with the racism bullshite...Col. Reb is unique, and I hope he comes back!!
