It is really pointless at this stage in college football. During the 90's when LSU was not winning yeah I could see where it had some charm.
However the entire landscape of football has changed and LSU is one of the premier programs out there. Even with the past 2 seasons of "struggles" the team has still won. It is not like they went through a Michigan/Notre Dame/FSU/Miami like slide with losing records and no longer being prominent.
