I was in middle school at the time so I’m still curious how in the world Alabama went 11-2 in 2005.

Mark Anderson
Wallace Gilberry
Demeco Ryans
Roman Harper
Charlie Peprah
Anthony Madison

All guys who had decent to great NFL careers that were upperclassmen on that defense.

Throw in Bobby Greenwood, Simeon Castille, Jeremy Clark and Freddie Roach (all solid college players) and it was a very, very good, fundamentally sound defense.

Post-Prothro injury the offense put up.......

Ole Miss - 13 (W)
Tennessee - 6 (W)
Utah State - 35 (W)
Mississippi State - 3 (Defense/ST scored 14) (W)
LSU - 13 (L)
Auburn - 13 (L)
Texas Tech - 13 (W)

The offense averaged 11 PPG the 2nd half of the season against P5 teams. ELEVEN.

Auburn was our 1st game without our Sr. Center JB Closner. But yeah that game was bad.

Edit: lt was our 2nd. I forgot Miss.State was before LSU back then.

Crazy how times have changed. I was rooting for Alabama pretty heavily in that game and couldn't believe how badly they were taking Florida to the woodshed

Still the most fun I've ever had in that stadium. By far the best day of my college years in Tuscaloosa.
