GTFO you're too stupid to be a real Alabama fan. Go post on the help board and learn some manners.

I've heard that is what it was. If it was, isn't the synthetic stuff a Class C felony in Alabama?

If this is his second failed test then he will miss at least 4 games. I think he transfers and plays. Auburn has one of the strictest drug policies in the nation. I have no problem with a kid smoking some dope.

1) Rules are rules. Break them and pay the consequences. I have no issue with that.
2) I think it is beyond STUPID that anyone should be punished, more than maybe a little extra running, for smoking pot.
2a) I've never smoked pot. So, it is not like I am some pot fan. I just see it as goofy as hell that it is such a big deal.

I think that is what is so puzzling. I don't know where AU falls in toughness of drug offenses, but MS State has one of the toughest enforcement policies in Div 1 and at State you have to have failed more than once to sit a game.
I stand corrected, a first offense positive for marijuana results in suspension from next game
Taken from MSU's athletic site
PHASE I – 1st positive for marijuana, no void, or no show
1. The Director of Sports Medicine will notify, in writing, the following
individuals of a positive test result and any applicable sanctions:
a. Student-Athlete
b. Director of Athletics
c. Head Coach
d. Student-Athlete’s Parents/Guardians
e. Team Physician
2. Suspension:
a. The length of the suspension is equal to 10% of the team’s
regular season schedule where the student-athlete represents
Mississippi State University. The suspended events will be the next
consecutive events in the schedule. Post-season events are also
included in the suspension (e.g., SEC Championships, NCAA
Championships, Bowl Games, Post-season Invitational events).
If a first positive for marijuana occurs during the off-season or
summer, the 10% suspension may occur in the first 30% of the next
season at the discretion of the Director of Athletics and the head
coach.
6
b. Although the student-athlete may practice, he/she may not
participate in any other activities surrounding competition.
i. May not “dress out”
ii. May not travel (home or away)
iii. May not gain admission to “team area” on competition days
(including meals and pre-/post-game locker room visits)
3. A drug abuse evaluation by a certified mental health professional is
mandatory and attendance will be monitored by the Director of Sports
Medicine. The student-athlete must attend an evaluation session within 2
weeks of notification by the Director of Sports Medicine. Allowances will
be made when there is a conflict with the University Calendar.
The counselor will assess the student-athlete and make treatment
recommendations to the student-athlete and the Director of Sports
Medicine. The student-athlete is expected to comply with treatment
until released by the counselor. If the student-athlete fails to promptly
schedule the evaluation, fails to attend the evaluation, or fails to comply
with treatment (e.g., missing appointments, arriving late, leaving early), an
additional 10% suspension of a season will be incurred. Failure to
successfully complete recommended treatment may result in loss of
athletic scholarship and/or participation.
4. Follow-up, non-random drug testing is mandatory.
5. If a team completes its competition schedule while a student-athlete is
under Phase I sanctions, the student-athlete’s suspension will be carried
over into the next season’s competition.

The penalties for it are just like marijuana in AL:
13A-12-214.1
1st possession = misdemeanor
2nd conviction for possession = felony
Selling it = felony

Maybe Ole Ms. is trying to sabatoge the Barner program you know that's where all the "Medical Marijuana" is grown for medicinal purposes then sent to a lab in North Carolina and rolled into cigaretts,Maybe it's being sent to Dyer in Cow-Town instead of NC. War Eagle!

Dyer and Holland were at the last LaGrange game IIRC. Guys normally don't smoke alone, gotta take a look at who he's hanging out with.

Funny you should say that because Ole Miss has one of the least stringent enforcement policies in Div1 and they don't even enforce that. They have been called out in national publications for their lax policies and failure to monitor. But I have never seen it reach the level that it did under Nutt. They pretty much went unmonitored his entire time there.

Hearing this reminds me of the comments from Psycho Wife regarding Gus' frustration with his entitlement attitude.
Sounds like they have laid the law down.
