The NCAA used to have "dynasties" in their records book but don't anymore. Basically, their definition was 2 national titles in a 10 year span.
Edit: 2, not 10.

It is 11 not 10
64-75 with a gimme for 10 when they gave Wooden his last game and in the middle was UK vs UTEP game.
10 for Wooden
1 for Harrick who got fired ahead of an NCAA probe but it caught up with him and they got Georgia for NCAA violations.

Texas is a dynasty wannabee.....
- left the SIAA to form the SWC when they could not get their way
- got TAMU to join them but LSU and the Rebs were smart enough to decline
- Oklahoma left in 1919 and Oklahoma State left in 1925
- OK schools leaving left Hogs as the only non TX school in conference
- as SWC allowed Utx to run roughshod over weaker schools and pad wins
- richest school for ages but only has this to show:
3 MNC in SWC in 1963, 1969, and 1970 (all under Royal)
1 MNC in B12 in 2005 (under Brown)
- allowed rampant cheating in the SWC till is collapsed and Hogs escaped
- allowed disunity in the B12 allowing CU, UNL, TAMU, and MU to escape
Consider that Utx has 4 MNC's which is the same as Georgia Tech but the Bumbles have more of a claim to dynasty then legendary (in their own mind) Utx.
Compare and contrast the two schools football history
GT = 4 MNC's with 4 different coaches in four different eras
Utx = 4 MNC's with 2 different coaches in 2 different ears
GT = 3 MNC's in the SEC (home of The Six)
Utx = 3 MNC's in the SWC (home of the Utx +1)
GT = GA and solid recruiting grounds (split with other SEC schools)
Utx = TX and superior recruiting grounds (with Utx having the monopoly position)
GT = funding focused on education (school comes first)
Utx = funding focused on athletics (football comes first)
Face it, Utx bullied everybody in the SWC and everybody in the B12 and still could not dominate the member schools. Clearly Oklahoma has the superior football program and you could argue Nebraska is next based on wealth, local recruiting, and other factors where they were behind Utx. In essence Nebraska did better with less than Utx. Viewed as combination of SWC + Big 8 + Big Twelve:
Oklahoma = clearly a dynasty
Nebraska = clearly above the norm but below Sooners
Texas = clearly above the norm but below Sooners
Arkansas = clearly above the norm but below the 3 above
Congrats to Utx on being the big fish in a small pond. I imagine if TAMU had not left the SIAA when Utx threw a temper tantrum for not winning they would own your arse today. Instead Utx bullied OU and TAMU for ages to make themselves look better. At least TAMU got away and can win or lose on their own terms now. Hogs got wise earlier and left that drama wake long ago.
Now pardon me while I got shower for having to defined the Bumbles.
