don’t think this is about Alabama claiming to have the best year ever in 2020 anymore.
Definitely. It’s cute how many Alabama fans run to that LSU 28-point victory against Vanderbilt as some sort of gotcha while forgetting that they got 647 yards offense and 48 points dropped on their GoAt team by that shitty Ole Miss team. He already, like many other bama fans, made himself look clueless in the thread by claiming LSU’s defense gave up all 38 points in that Vandy game

My favorite part is where you brought up 4-5 Ole Miss dropping 600+ yards because you forgot 4-7 Ole Miss did the same thing to LSU in 2019
I never claimed LSU’s defense didn’t get 600+ yards dropped on them. I did claim Alabama got 600+ yards and nearly 48 points dropped on them - you know, a package deal. That was 48 points all on your defense FWIW

Who cares? Bama’s 2020 defense was vastly superior. I haven’t encountered a single person who is willing to argue otherwise, and I’m not sure what your point is or why you’d think brining defense into this conversation was a good idea.

Nope LSU defense was to weak . Best offense at end of year no doubt …. Although UGA last year was pretty good too.

If you’re going to argue 2019 LSU can’t be the best team because their defense gave up 38 to Vanderbilt (factually wrong), then I get to bring up 2020 Alabama’s defense gave up 48 to a 4-5 Ole Miss team

Big picture Bubba. That wasn’t the only bullet point. The reason 2019 LSU is absolutely not the greatest team of all time is because their defense ranked outside of the Top 25 in almost every major defensive category and gave up 20+ points to 9 different opponents.
Bama’s 2020 defense was solidly in the Top 25, and didn’t have the privilege of playing against Northwestern State, Utah State, and Georgia Southern.

Yeah those damn 3rd string defensive players and freshmen letting Oklahoma score 20 in an absolute blowout

But did have the privilege of playing in a season overshadowed by a global pandemic and a season in which every program’s strongest asset was keeping their team sanitary. Also the privilege of playing a 6-win team for a national championship who didn’t step on a football field until Halloween weekend.
No real spring training, no real summer practices. A perfectly healthy Trevor Lawrence had to sit out in a big game because of goofy arse “contract tracing”. Total farce of a season. Nobody takes Lakers’ bubble season stats seriously in comparison to other NBA titles. Nobody seriously takes the Dodgers 60-game World Series serious.

2020 Bama didn’t have that problem, but was putting up more points per game than 2019 LSU while averaging a 30 point margin of victory.

You can cry about that to ESPN while the tweet from Matt Leinart keeps you warm at night.

Finally! I’m glad you agree.
Points per game: 2020 Alabama 48.5, 2019 LSU 48.4
Yards per game: LSU 568, Alabama 542
Yards per play: LSU 7.9, Alabama 7.8
Success rate (no garbage time): Alabama 59.3%, LSU 57.4%
First downs per game: Alabama 28.1, LSU 27.9
Third-down percentage: Alabama 58.9%, LSU 49.7%
Total QBR: Alabama 95.9, LSU 94.7
Oh, and Bama had a Top 15 defense to go along with that.

2020 Bama didn’t have that problem,
But they did have a problem with a 4-5 Ole Miss based on a shootout in which they were nearly 50-pieced. Also had problem putting away an average Florida team in a 6-point SEC championship victory unlike LSU’s rout of Georgia

You would think this nerd Bill Connely was Jesus Christ of Nazareth himself the way Alabama fans swing on his nuts because of his now 3-year old list. His “system” of ranking things also has him claiming Baker Mayfield was the greatest college QB since 2000 rofl

Neat. Top 15 defense, averaged a 30 point margin of victory and didn’t give up 20+ to 9 different teams.

Nope. Wrong. Try again. Alabama didn’t play a 15 game schedule, nor did they play all college players (opt outs for Covid)

You should go back and look at what was said about the fraud, Florida’s dan Mullen (their competitor for a 6 point game ….greaaaat defenses
) and how Ohio state was a fraud and didn’t deserve to be there due to the Rona as sensationalist Tussy puts it in his*checks notes* own words.
Eta.
For fun, LSU beat east champ #4 Georgia 37-10. They had Fromm whom only tossed for 225. Then beat Jalen Hurts(bama STILL claims him) by the second quarter. Then *checks notes* Trev Lawrence whom 28’ed bama the year before
Alabama beat east champ Florida 52-46. Trask tossed for over 400. But his coach was a bum right according to Tussy.

At the end of the day, Alabama fans are entitled to think covid pandemic team was the greatest EVAR while others who take context into consideration are allowed to laugh
This will obviously seem biased, but if i had the choice, I’m glad my school’s greatest season occurred in the normal cfb season of 2019 when thousands of our fans were allowed to witness the amazing run by packing out Tiger Stadium, tailgating, attending championship parades, and making memories that’ll stick for decades.
As opposed to having to watch an lifeless stadium on the tv, void of energy and full of cardboard cutouts, no massive celebration with other fans, and praying and hoping a player didn’t get a flu every week
The minute Alabama beat 6-win (LOL) Ohio State for a national championship, the Alabama fans wanted to begin the comparison to 2019. They wanted that same hype and aura sooo bad. You can’t find a better representation of this than fat Mac Jones doing his best Joe Burrow cigar impression
Extremely cringe WhatAboutUsss energy?

2020 Bama
Season didn’t count. Sorry you lose
Alabama beat 8 sec teams with a losing record in that half season

2020 Alabama sucks and won’t even be mentioned in the top 30 best teams ever. Sorry for a half season that didn’t count. They gave the athletes another year of eligibility because 2020 didn’t matter
