I don't remember a single OM fan bashing the Hat for a damn thing regarding Zach Lee. And if they did, they're assholes trolling for rantards, just like the rest of you.
In college football, W's are all that matters. Period. End of story. Bama... You want to argue with that!?!?
Our coach did something he thought would help us get W's. He did not take a murderer. He did not take a rapist. He did not take a drug dealer or a thief.
he took a chance on a player who was ACCUSED of being INVOLVED with a theft and drugs. You stupid fricks need to read the SI article which lays out the actual facts and the truth in Masoli's problems at Oregon and in highschool. The kid was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and got scared and lied to cover it up. That makes him stupid and a poor decision maker, but not criminal. That's it. He's been convicted in a court of law because he didn't want to take a chance in open court of being convicted on circumstantial evidence and actually do time. No one can blame him for that.
I don't fault Nutt for taking a shot at him. I don't fault him for coming to OM. I don't fault anyone in this situation, except the NCAA for altering their black and white rule book for their own agenda. Other pussified SEC coaches (afraid to play against the motherfricker) and the mighty ESPN itself, lobbied the NCAA to reject him based on the "spirit of the rule" bullshite. That's why the process took so long The NCAA got so much bad press in the last month, they folded. frick them. Hippocrites, the lot of them.
The way for them to properly handle this situation was to allow him to play, make a statement that they don't agree in principle and close the loophole with additional language for next season. Done.

Not OM fans that post here
I post on several OM boards and Zach Lee was a minor blip on the radar.
He never played a game for LSU- I know you guys needed him, but you never really had him...

Can someone tell me why in the friggin hell didn't someone bring in an experienced juco QB (or perhaps five with the class of 37) before something like this occurred?
Because Houston Nutt don't need no stinkin' quarterbacks. You should know this.

How do you figure? Both never played a down for either school, they are exactly the same in that regard.
The only difference is we actually have a small chance to get our QB back

Congrats. Now they are both gone.
This is fricking stupid...

Nutt did something any other coach in college football would do if their depth at qb was bad. Masoli is a legit player. Nutt knew that and thats why Masoli was the starting qb. Masoli > any other qb on OM roster

because zach lee was cleared by the ncaa at lsu and masoli never was at ole miss. pretty simple imo

I can understand them being defensive about their coach. But someone needs to be able to see through the fog in this ordeal because it go further south really quick ...and that's no bull.

Link all you want, clown. It doesn't change the facts, it only lends more credence to my point.

no, most coaches at a bcs school would not let a guy who was dismissed from school for disciplinary reasons come and play right away. i've said it before. no one was beating down the door for RP when he was kicked off the team. that's what schools like memphis and 1-aa schools do.

What the hell does that matter? The point is he's gone and so is Masoli. Is this some sort of pissing contest to you?
Geebus. This, as hehatedrew eloquently put it, is stupid

please comparing RP to this situation is ludacris. RP was a complete and total head case. The bottom line is that Masoli was a heisman contender and hadn't been convicted of any crimes. The kid had less baggage than RP if i remember correctly. Ole miss needed a qb so they went and got one.

not really, those articles are always sunshine pumping and don't mean anything. you can believe he was in the wrong place at the wrong time all you want, but just because someone in sports illustrated wrote it, doesn't mean it's fact. don't be so naive to believe it's as simple as being in the wrong places at the wrong time. that phrase gets used far too much when speaking of college athletes and their poor decisions.
