It is always a 'what if' with Richt.

2002 they had 2 undefeated teams, so what if.

Last year they lost a tiebreaker...what if.

This year they were hurt. What if.

If you are elite then sometimes you just have to get the job done.

he also hasn't won a NC like 6 SEC coaches have done once in their lifetime.

Are you really counting Tuberville?

How do you count Miles and then not count Richt or Tubs? Miles won with 2 losses and has never had a team finish with less than 2 losses.

......and what about this year?

Everyone agreed that he had one of the most talented and best teams before the season started (so much so that they were actually ranked #1 to begin the year). Where was all that talent and that great team when they were destroyed by Bama in their own house and then by Florida at the Cocktail?

I never thought they'd win the NC, brutal schedule. They also got bit by the injury bug. If they beat Tech (not a gimme), they finish 10-2.

I agree. It was a solid job by Richt this year to be at 9-2 at this point. Their defense was overrated and with the injuries on O line and defense, Richt has held up well.

The Florida game was just embarrassing. The Bama game could have been as well if Coach didn't sit on a lead.

I guess the way they lost should not tell us all that much.

Good overall record, but if you watched them and you are honest with yourself then you would admit UGA is not a very good team.

They were humiliated twice with national contender talent.

You clearly have something against either UGA or Richt. I am sorry that you think he is overhyped as a coach. I am fine with what he has done with our program. Move along now troll.

There is absolutely nothing trollish about my post. I have not stated one inaccuracy. Mark Richt is top 10 but not top 5 or elite.
Sorry.

Hopefully you are fine with 'close but no cigar' because that is all you will ever have.

Richt has consistantly won more than about any coach in the SEC. He recruits well and averages about 10 or 10+ wins per year. Not only do I call that good, but better than about any other coach in the SEC over a longer period of time. You put every SEC coach and their winning percentage up against Richt consider has basically done it longer than anyone you want to compare him too and calling him mediocre is laughable.

Read my post a-hole.

Good coach, top 10. Never won the big one, always finds a way to stumble =/= elite.

That is silly. You take Richt's best couple of seasons and interchange them with the seasons LSU won their two NC's and you have Richt 2 NC and LSU 0. LSU would be close but co cigar had they not backed into 2 championship games on the last weekend of the season.

I clearly said this is not about Miles. There are a hundred threads on the guy so feel free to read through them.

Again, it is always 'WHAT IF'. That is all the Richt apologists can grasp on to.

You clearly talk about winning the big one, which Miles has under the strangest circumstances ever. Yet you belittle Richt because he doesn't have a horseshoe stuck up his arse. I just have a feeling that you think Miles is a great coach.

Yeah, you are right.

All your what if scenarios and 'only if, then' reasons have me really convinced.

Damn I am so humiliated...kind of like UGA was against Bama and Florida this year with a national championship squad.
