Hey im not the one that brought up the fulmer cup dont point at me. MArk Richt has lost control of his players, and his posters, apparently.

Maybe this is the kind of thing Richt was referring to:
quotes from an Alabama fan on their suspended players:
Not surprised that Jarran Reed is still out. A DUI is the least dangerous thing he did that night.
If it had ended the way it was going, there wouldn't be a discussion about whether Jarran Reed would be in the rotation. A couple others were involved that didn't commit a DUI as well. There were some very nervous law enforcement officers during the time before they left the scene. I probably should stop at that.
It is out. It's just not out in the papers. Bar owners know. Police officers know. Saban knows, because the chief sat down and told him so. Kudos to the athletic department for their flow control of information, and glad to see that CNS is being proactive with his discipline discouraging some players from "just being kids."
Needless to say, Richt and UGA do not have that kind of pull in the ACCPD.

Mark Richt: Off-field issues magnified because we discipline and others don't
I couldn't find anywhere in his comments where he claimed other programs don't discipline. All I read was that he was explaining what his program does.
Unless I missed something, this thread title seems rather disingenuous. I have no problem with what Richt said.
Spurrier does.....EVERY YEAR!

Mark Richt: Off-field issues magnified because we discipline and others don't
One of our kids just graduated from UGA. She got a great education and had a great experience. Not a UGA fan, but spent 4 years watching the dawgs closer than I normally would because of her.
I will say this, I believe Mark Richt is a good coach and a good leader for that program, but SOMETHING is going on there. Not sure what. Personally, I think the players are not scared of Richt on any level. Maybe with Pruitt there now, that might change some, but I think fear factor plays in to rules respect, especially in the case of some kids who didnt grow up in families with strong male influences around.
What does fear have to do with anything? If you are lucky enough to be selected to play college FB, then don't be dumb enough to ruin that by breaking the law? You know when you join the team that you will be treated accordingly.

Out of fairness, HOW many times did that LSU player FAIL the drug test & yet continued to play? Was he disciplined? Maybe, but it wasn't by benching him.

"Just because we've got guys suspended isn't evidence we have a discipline problem," Richt said.
While I agree in principle, I disagree with his conclusion; the shear number of incidents indicates a discipline problem. This is not to say that other programs don't have the same problems; they certainly do. The problem for UGA is that our admins/athletic dept. have set higher standards of conduct and associated discipline when those standards are not met. What is missing is the daily discipline/mentoring to teach and enforce those standards. It's like a grade school teacher setting a target that every student will have at least a B average without working closely with students who would not otherwise attain a B average through typical teaching practices and their own volition. Bottom line: if you are going to set a stringent conduct standard, you must instill daily discipline to head off the incidents before they happen, otherwise the result will be what we have seen in the UGA football program: ongoing incidents and players kicked off the team every season.
& what's wrong with having high standards? There are other schools to attend if you don't think you can honor UGA standards.

Wow, you aren't very smart. Your book says "Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you"
It also says we should obey the laws we are under and that our bodies are the temple of God.
If you understand God's nature, then you would understand Marijuana is not covered under the verse you quoted. Besides, are you eating marijuana or are you smoking it? I realize you can put it in food and eat it, but primarily it is not for sustenance it is for other things.

No you are not. I THINK I did to point out the hypocricy of your pointing your fingers at georgia while Tennessee is as bad if not worse.
And Mark Richt has perfect control over his posters!

Don't read what CIYE wrote! Go to the article. CIYE added "...like the other guys...". Richt did not say that. LOOK at the article and don't take what CIYE is saying it says.

LSU's drug policy is actually more strict than most SEC teams, if you and believe that.

Yep, I missed it. So much for my reading comprehension.
Sort of a douchey thing to say. Everything else was just fine.
Well, he was hired away from FSU. That has to be who the "other guys" are, he is referring to.
Certainly not any team in our conference.

And LSU players don't get into trouble, do they? Hill, Jefferson, Mathieu and on and on.....nothing like a little assault to get the football juices flowing, no?
LSU football payers are so tough they have gone from kicking people while they are lying on the ground, to sucker punching people to attacking women. But Georgia has a problem.

Again. Read the article. Richt did not say "the other guys". That was put in there by the OP trying to be cute.
