You can't go a day in LA without some group of LSU fans claiming they know more than an LSU coach. LSU definitely has a section of our fanbase that comprises the worst fans in college sports.
If anyone actually believes any of this is in good fun then they don't know the LSU fanbase really well.

Damn, TWO NCs ago. I know Alabama wins NCs on the reg and everything, but that's like a lifetime ago in LSU years. You really think anybody is still thinking about that?

I don't see a big deal in the whole NC thing since the teams finished 1-1 in the season series. It was the whole flaw of the rematch talk since it started on the eve of the nov. 5th game.
I think most LSU fans realize that LSU has never been the media darlings to the point they would have been awarded a rematch opportunity had they lost the nov. 5th game.

I am not going to go around claiming LSU is the National Champions, but the loss doesn't really matter as much IMO since LSU finished with a better record and also beat Alabama on the road.
Also the fact that I feel very confident LSU wouldn't have gotten the opportunity of a rematch if the roles were reversed also adds into this. I have no problem admitting that Alabama is appreciated and celebrated by the media more than LSU (this also has a lot to do with the media's love of Saban).
Do you really think LSU would have gotten the votes Bama did to beat out OSU for the NCG appearance? There is no way in hell that happens.
I would question how honest you are being with yourself if you greatly disagree with these statements.
Don't get confused by my statements though. I am not saying that Alabama is not the National Champions this year as they have the trophy.
I don't see why an LSU fan would be embarrassed about the season considering what LSU actually accomplished on the field.
LSU beat the #1 team in the final rankings on the road. LSU beat the Rose Bowl and Orange Bowl champs at a neutral site and on the road. They then beat the SEC eastern division champ and the #5 ranked team in the final poll.

It's Mardi Gras!
It's US making fun of ourselves. It's all in fun.
Too many people take themselves and sports too seriously. That is what Mardi Gras floats do. They make fun of people taking themselves too seriously.
My cousin rides in that krewe. I love it!!

Good, because they aren't.

I actually disagree. LSU wouldn't even have needed as many votes as Alabama did because they would have still been a unanimous #1 in the computers because of SOS. I absolutely think LSU would have gotten enough human votes combined with their computer score to edge OSU in the BCS.

As I stated only an idiot would think LSU would have gotten the chance of a rematch. Bama got the rematch because they are loved by the media and are insanely marketable. Saban plus ridiculously old championships does that for you.
The media constantly makes fun of our coach and most of the commentators made every excuse in the book to say we really didn't win on nov. 5th.

I believe LSU would have fallen more in the human polls initially. They also would not have been in the SECCG. Finally I think people would have definitely voted against LSU being the second team from a division in the game because we are not Alabama.

Sems that a lot of the criticism that LSU and Les Miles receives is from LSU fans. My understanding is that the group who built the float are LSU fans. LSU fans can be very relentless even against their own team.
Though I am a new member of this forum, I have been lurking and reading for 4-5 months. I have found that some LSU fans are knowledgeable and good sports; some even exhibit some degree of humility. My hat is off to these fans.
However, there are also some that still display a high degree of arrogance and are still in some level of denial. Sure, you meet fans like this from every team.
I have stated on other forums that I believe LSU should be the team to beat next year considering who is coming back.

You are not very cognizant of your fellow LSU fans' opinions on LSU sports.
I think the float is dumb and is a slap in the face to the program. I personally would not consider the people that made the floats real fans.
LSU has section of the fanbase that is full of bandwagon fans and are not supportive of the school. Most of these people didn't attend school at the university or are just ignorant what goes into sports in general (worst type of fans).

LSU would've remained #1 in the computers because of SOS and their impressive wins over Oregon, and Arky would've gave them enough human votes to get in. Stop playing the "ESPN hates LSU" card.

While you definitely won Nov. 5th, I don't think they were exactly incorrect in saying that Bama probably should've won that game, especially given what happened on Jan. 9th.
