Im kinda worried he might be like Jimbo by leaving his last program worse than how he found it.

He did what he had to do to get a decent coach there. He's an AD, not a wizard.

LSU fans - Jimbo was such an awful hire and waste of money! Woof!

Also LSU fans - The AD that pulled that hire off is the best in the country!

In his short time with the Tigers, Woodward has left a positive impression, particularly in the last few months as the administration deals with the COVID-19 outbreak. After spending months researching the virus and preparing for athletes to return to campus, Woodward, along with senior associate athletic trainer Shelly Mullenix and director of athletic training Jack Marucci, developed the protocol used by the SEC in terms of safety precautions and what happens when a player tests positive for the virus.

LSU fans didn't crown him, Jeff Goodman and Brett McMurphy did.

Both of these are true and not mutually exclusive. Only the simpleminded would think otherwise.

They kind of are.
Jimbo is the worst hire in recent history.
The AD’s primary job is making good hires.

Your previous AD gave you your best hire.

You're better than this, Assie.

Simple minds. This is a career "achievement." Even if the very best of everything make mistakes.

How else is a program like A&M going to pull a coach with a Natty from another school? They wanted him so Woodward had to open the checkbook.

That's not an indictment of Woodward.

Exactly. It would an indictment of A&M, not Woodward. I've never understood why people care about the contract in the first place. If they can afford it, why not use that to get the guy you want?
