Well that is possible, but I don't think if they regress it will be the QB. It could be the defense's of SEC, or the offensive line not coming together as fast as it should.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Coffee and Wilson can probably be replaced, but Caldwell and Smith won't be as easy.

I think we upset Florida too, but I see us dropping one we should win such as Auburn the following week.
Since Miles took over at LSU we always struggle toward the end the regular season. That being said Ole Miss and Bama definitely concern me.

Florida has a week off before LSU. Will be rested and ready for the Tigers
31-17, Florida.

Offensive line is usually an easier position to replace. While I do not think they will be bad, there will be a slight drop off in production.

A week off can also knock a hot team out of rhythm

Nah LSU wont beat Florida, LSU fans are going to do something stupid like get Tebow's phone number and paste it all over internet and call.
If not that, LSU fans are going to do something rather stupid to keep the Gators fired up and hyped for this game.

Some poster is going to say something arrogant on the Rant, and this will cause UF to get fired up and win the game.

Why are LSU fans so obsessed with Bama QB?
Do they realize JPW did not win games for Bama?
He had 10 Touchdowns and 8 interceptions and threw for 162 yards a game.
Trust me this new QB should be able to reach those number rather easily.
It's because of the new OL. Not only do many feel, myself included, that the Tide will be unable to control the game at the line of scrimmage, but that they will be unable to pass protect as well.
McElroy will be asked to do more as a passer, and he lacks both the experience and the targets to get it done.

Anywhere from 9-3 to 10-2 is realistic.

Alabama offensive line still is 6'5" 280 across the board, people are not exactly going to just push them around. While there may be a drop off it is not going to be so dramatic that its going to cause Bama to lose 3/4 games.
They may add 1/2 sacks more per game, and may lose 20 rushing yard per game but it wont be significant.
As far as targets, McElroy actually has more skill at wide receiver than JPW did. A more mature, physically stronger Julio plus a guy LSU wanted (even though LSU fans say he is garbage now.)

I think that record is correct. Dont know if those are the teams LSU loses to but record is good.

Except most of us watched the Sugar Bowl, and saw what the Tide OL looked like without Andre Smith.
The WR situation is not as rosy as you paint it. And the TE position will be the most important early on, not WR. McElroy will be running for his life early on.

You cant say what they did in Sugar Bowl is how the offensive line is going to play this season. That is just wishful thinking, when you have a guy the week before game get sent home. It messed up the chemistry and continuity that they had developed. Obviously in any situation where you have a guy with little or no experience thrown into a game where he has had little/no time to prepare its bad (see LSU QB situation last year)
They have had all summer to gel, not to mention spring practice and will have fall practice to gel as a unit before the first game.
Wide Receiver situation is same as last year except with more incoming (young) talent there. Since Bama offensive is hand off to Ingram or any other stable of running backs McElroy wont be running any more than JPW did last year. Like I stated the only issue would be maybe 1-2 more sacks per game given up coming from blind side.
To expect Bama offensive line to go in crapper just because Smith isn't there is wishful thinking.
I have stated this before and will again here, LSU lost Herman Johnson who they liked to run towards his side because of his size and fact he could take on 2 defensive lineman and also our center who dictates and audibles the offensive line. These guys were each starters for multiple years. While we didn't lose a guy who protected the QB's blindside we did lose 2 valuable positions. So you can probably expect a drop off in our offensive production because of that also.
But like most people LSU is replacing talent with talent so is Bama.
